Brexit, by rebate on May 18, 2019 16:18:53 GMT 1, ... Corbyn was a shït MP for Islington ... his main interest has always been himself and his causes ... I know I grew up in Islington ... Lol odd that they kept him for so long then. Seems the majority disagree.

To be fair, Corbyn has been elected as MP for Islington on 9 occasions. So if he was truly a terrible MP, his constituents have had 8 opportunities to vote him out, but have chosen not to. In 2017 he received the highest share of the vote he’d ever received there. ... any person representing labour would hold that seat ... the Council itself which is a labour stronghold has not been that bad tbh ... yes it has made mistakes and went a bit looney left for a little while, but it is tried to do the right thing ... I lived not far from the Red Rose Club, not far from Jeremy

Brexit, by rebate on May 18, 2019 16:28:16 GMT 1, The only other possibility is more tory and under bojo the clown at that. Not sure what else "proof" anyone could need. Their policies and plans are a good guide, Corbyns history of doing the right thing, and being a decent person for the last untold years hes been an MP are another. Until they are in we wont know, but the tories have been in for years and done nothing but damage. The other parties have zero chance in a GE, therefore Labour are the only hope. Meaningless platitudes? They have the plans behind them to make it happen. I dont see it as meaningless at all. Would you like to explain who else offers more hope? You’re a die hard labour fan, we get it, and that’s fine. But for a tiny second, remove the fan hat, put down the foam finger, and take a rational outside-in look at the situation. Even under a self destructing, abject Tory government, labour has been absolutely unable to offer an alternative or even a glimpse of hope that they can do better. They have your vote, and they always have had, but they have failed to convince anyone else... In essence, faced with absolutely no credible competition they still can’t win (see last elections) If this doesn’t tell you that something is dead wrong with the party, I don’t know what does. You can put the hat back on, and the foam finger and wave it all you like, but the failure of labour is as catastrophic and mind blowing that’s that of the lunatic torries. If I were a labour fan I would be disgusted and pissed off you see, this is where assumption takes over and people think they know more than they do. Im not partisan, and i dont have some love of Corbyn, outside of knowing he is the only way forward. Im just not blind to the alternatives. Nothing to do with ignorant flag waving, i want a better and fairer future, thats not coming from any other potential option. If the electorate want to f**kthemselves over, theres nothing i can do about it. But i will fully support someone i see as trying to bring about positive change.
As you have written off the tories and labour, what is left? A bunch of parties with no hope of being elected. Yeah, good choice.
No point giving mes**t if your just going to bin your vote into the abyss of pointlessness. At least i can make a rational decision.

Brexit, by Daylight Robber on May 18, 2019 17:20:13 GMT 1, If Corbyn is so unelectable, why has he been smeared constantly since becoming leader of the Labour Party. Presumably if he was genuinely no threat the focus would be on how shit the Tories have been at everything.

Brexit, by Deleted on May 18, 2019 17:28:57 GMT 1, But what I am asking for is some sort of evidence to back up your unquestioning love for Jeremy Corbyn and his Labour Party. What evidence do you have that "Labour is clearly the only hope" when it comes to "neighbourhoods winning"? I don't recall a golden age during previous Labour governments, do you? Anyone can throw out these meaningless platitudes. Corbyn and McDonnell do it all the time. The only other possibility is more tory and under bojo the clown at that. Not sure what else "proof" anyone could need. Their policies and plans are a good guide, Corbyns history of doing the right thing, and being a decent person for the last untold years hes been an MP are another. But you haven't proved any kind of 'proof'. I am asking what Labour has achieved when it has been in power to make "neighbourhoods win"? Your reply has been "...but Tories are terrible". That doesn't quite work as an argument, does it?
P.S. Corbyn's history does *not* consist of 'doing the right thing'. Quite the opposite actually. He has continually run a campaign of obfuscation and confusion over Brexit so even Labour supporters don't know where he stands. He has attended the funerals of arab terrorists. He has shared platforms with Hamas and Hezbollah; both organisations that has been deemed terrorist organisations by the UN. He has supported the display of a clearly anti-semitic mural on the streets of London. He has repeatedly covered up anti-semitic behaviour by other Labour MPs. You call all that "doing the right thing"?

The last time Labour were in power they reduced poverty, child poverty, absolute poverty. They oversaw huge improvements in health provision as well as access to education. All wins for the average citizen. The Tories have reversed all these in the name of austerity, whilst the filthy rich have got richer and richer.
Well done for parroting the right wing press in regards to accusations/smears against Corbyn though. He's consistently been on the right side of history and that's one of the reasons why there are so many attempts to undermine him.

Bollocks. The focus is how shit they've been on Brexit. Theres been no focus on the lives destroyed by their social policies. There's been no holding to account over the slow but sure dismantling of the NHS. No one is asking questions over their involvement in arms trades to the Saudis etc. I could go on.

The once new labour, nowadays mostly unloved, had a lot of economic policy success stories tbh. For instance, cutting child poverty in half...
... a gain, among many, almost completely undone by Osborne/Cameron/May/Hammond...

The focus is hows**t they've been on Brexit. Theres been no focus on the lives destroyed by their social policies. There's been no holding to account over the slow but sure dismantling of the NHS. No one is asking questions over their involvement in arms trades to the Saudis etc. I could go on. I don't know if you have been living under a stone for the past 6 months but I have seen the Tories questioned repeatedly on *all* of those topics. Perhaps you don't watch Newsnight or the Andrew Marr show. If you did you would realise you are talking complete b*ll*cks.

Brexit, by Deleted on May 18, 2019 18:11:56 GMT 1, But you haven't proved any kind of 'proof'. Ive pretty much demolished everything you have said, point for point. I see no point wasting time with you now. You talk rubbish, and you are constantly repeating the same sad old bullshit over and over. Its all been blown out of the water time and time again. Its pathetic. So, in a nutshell, you think Labour are great because the Tories are terrible. Great argument that. And you still claim that Corbyn has always "done the right thing" despite all the documented cases where he hasn't. Seriously? You ready have been brainwashed, haven't you. Wake up!

Brexit, by Deleted on May 18, 2019 18:12:01 GMT 1, If Corbyn is so unelectable, why has he been smeared constantly since becoming leader of the Labour Party. Presumably if he was genuinely no threat the focus would be on hows**t the Tories have been at everything. In case you hadn't noticed the focus *has* been on how sh1t the Tories have been on everything.
they are shit,
an absolutely vile odious party.
I am not a Corbyn fan, though who would replace him?
Don't think he is the man to lead us, he isn't very flexible is he, or overly bright. I like a lot of his views, but for me he lost it over Brexit, everyone knows he is a leaver, just not brave enough to say it
However sooner him than another self serving Tory

But it does not follow that "the Tories are sh*t, therefore Labour are great and everyone should vote for them". There is such a thing as jumping out of the frying pan in to the fire. At our present time, we need good leadership more than ever and I can't help thinking Corbyn would be an even worse leader than Boris (or whoever).

How have the parties other than labour and the tories done whilst in a majority government, and what are the chances of one of them winning a GE outright?

You said he has repeatedly covered up anti Semitic behaviour by Labour MPs. Prove it.

Ive given you all sorts in the past, including exerts from Hansard which is the official parliamentary record. The context you try to frame these things around is a matter of political record, so it isnt hard to do. You just always ignore it. Everyone knows thats what has happened via the press, its pointless to go over it again for someone that hasnt managed to understand it by now.
Too slow on the edit there.
