Brexit, by Nordicstar on Jan 31, 2020 21:31:02 GMT 1, I remember the fall of Berlin wall, it made a huge impact on me as a teenager, I stayed up all night and watched it on telly, couple of months later I saw The Stone Roses live, in Stockholm 1990 that was just whaaah, MASSIVE, I took the train to Norway the same week and saw them there as well, and Finland that summer.. The future was without a doubt in my mind going to be ours. Thirty years. What the fuck happened?

Brexit, by Terry Fuckwitt on Jan 31, 2020 21:45:47 GMT 1, Positivity is good for the mind and we are going to get a new Banksy work imminent too! A reworking of the Birmingham Xmas piece but with Jacob Rees-Mogg lying on a bench in parliament being drawn away by unicorns into Middle England’s sunlit uplands.
Haha, yeah nailed it with that.

I am so glad that I still today have my sensitivity and anger. (Edit: and a bit bitter as well)

Brexit, by Fast Eddie on Feb 1, 2020 0:00:30 GMT 1, If you are sad about Brexit now, wait five years.
By then, the outflow of service jobs, higher tariffs, higher volatility, and a portfolio of other crap that comes associated with being a small open economy will really hit the fan. We have not seen anything yet.

If so you’re a very naughty boy!...Only time will tell.. The UK has lost between 1.7 to 2.5 percent of GDP per year since 2018 exclusively due to Brexit.
In 2019 alone, the country lost 44 billion GBP of income for this exercise in masochism. To make it more relatable, that's about 657 GBP per person, flushed down the toilet, thanks to Boris.

I'd more love to know that I will be wrong.
Just a few facts or even fiction on how people think things will improve

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it won't improve. The loss of freedom of movement is a huge step backwards.

Too busy trying to plan for mine and my French wife's parents and how we can look after them in old age, without jeopardising our own rights to live in one country or another more than they already have been. I'm sure it's unimportant to you but lives have been turned upside down by this.

Brexit, by Guy Denning on Feb 1, 2020 21:33:43 GMT 1, Serious question. Would remainers rather see the country fail and be right or see the country succeed and be wrong? Serious answer.
I'd love to be wrong. If I was wrong, I'd hold my hands up and shout "Yup - I was fucking wrong." I've got children and grandchildren living in the UK. I don't want to see the country go socially and economically down the shitter . But I think it very well might. After being an extremely politically informed and read individual since the early 80s... I think it might just all go very pear shaped. And it's only just started the warm-up lap (Gibraltar today)...
Serious response question.
If it does all go down the swanny will it be like the Iraq War? That's the one that I can remember arguing the toss over with people in the street and at workplaces... but strangely very few now claim to have ever supported it.

We're also talking about the rights of British citizens to live, work, & love across the Union. The right to be able to bring family members to live with you in old age. The ability to come and go as you please across the EU without risking your rights to live in a country. The possibility to study in any country within the union without having to jump through hoops. It's not just about who comes here FFS.
