Theresa May seeks General Election, by Deleted on Jun 7, 2017 18:07:00 GMT 1, I still haven't decided which way to vote, (even though I haven't registered to vote) What would be the one most important factor that would persuade me to vote for any one of the political parties ? I don't think you're alone, well you are a bit of a dick for not registering, but allowing for that Its a tough election i would say the biggest thing is that Conservatives don't give as**t so thats them out. Lib Dems, dont stand a chance and i heard his bacon sandwiches are undercooked, so best not vote them labour just got rid of Abbot, thats a good sign, vote for them EDIT, I just thought about it in depth ( one minute) the most important factor for me why i would not vote Conservative is My Children. I would never vote Conservative.

@elviswarhol am I mistaken or do you live in France (somehow I had you as a Brit on the riviera, but excuse me if I got it wrong) ?
If so, maybe we could do each other a favour. You see I am French, but live in the U.K. I pay my taxes here, my kids go to school here, and I employ quite a few people here.
Yet I am not allowed to vote here. I am allowed to vote in France but I do not.
So if you do live in France maybe we can vote for each other next time around ? I will vote for whoever you want and you do the same for me ?

Theresa May seeks General Election, by Daniel Silk on Jun 7, 2017 18:42:17 GMT 1, Every traditional Labour voter I know have said they will not vote Labour this time coz of Corbyn, and these are people that have only voted Labour all their lives! I just wonder if Labour have got a bit caught up in their own hype and have taken for granted their core traditional supporters.
Well it's not long now to find out the truth and reality of the situation

I never registered to vote for this election or for the Brexit referendum.
For me whoever gets elected, nothing will change. It's the same horse diferent rider to me. I think political change comes from peaceful protest and speaking the truth not promoting propaganda.

Theresa May seeks General Election, by doyle on Jun 7, 2017 18:50:40 GMT 1, @ploppi You said you hadn't yet decided who to vote for, then asked for 1 factor that could sway you to vote for a particular party. I understood that as you were able to vote, but not yet sure. Then you said you are defo not voting conservative, then said you hadn't registered. I think the deadline is gone now to register now though.

There could be people reading this thread who are not decided.

Your previous statement "I still haven't decided which way to vote (even though I haven't registered to vote) " did not come across to me as hypothetical, plus the use of the word 'vote' is wrong in the 1st sentence if you have not registered. To vote is to make a physical expression of your decision:a show of hands or ballot.
I agree, there are many who are undecided voters and It is difficult to find one thing that will persuade someone to vote one party over another. In addition, I think there will be different arguments to pursue between someone who has registered but Is undecided, and someone who intentionally didn't register at all (to vote). We could argue all day about the 2 main parties however, you already expressed your argument saying that you don't think anything would change whoever was in power, which means you are looking for a different answer to someone who is an undecided registered voter.

Theresa May seeks General Election, by thugs on Jun 7, 2017 20:55:56 GMT 1, Massive Attack
We have been lucky enough to make a good living from music.
I respect the need to pay back into society in order to enjoy the freedoms and benefits that it provides me and my family.
I want to live in a country that is progressive and open but safe from extremism and oppression, surely we need a government that will tackle poverty and inequality and that will invest in education.
The continued policy of austerity and a lack of investment is not working.
I'm happy to pay more personal tax to maintain our welfare system and keep it fair, but the corporations that benefit from the UK tax payers' spending need to put back into the system in order for it to function. That should be an obligation and not an option.
We all need to do our bit, we can't cut public service budgets and still expect to live in safe cites, protected by the bravery of the police and emergency services. Their job is now harder then ever and we have witnessed their sacrifice and courage in the recent unpredictable terror attacks.
We have to support the hospitals and all of their staff in order to maintain faith in a the health system and reinforce that idea that their tireless hard work will be rewarded and benefit a health happy population.
Jeremy Corbyn is the one of the few politicians that will talk straight and answer questions without resorting to robotic rhetoric and tired sound bites.
The idea that Corbyn is a terrorist sympathiser, because like all peacemakers he chose to engage in dialogue and diplomacy is completely ridiculous and defies the logic of democracy and security.
We need a government that will offer the whole country a real choice on Brexit regarding the single market, freedom of movement and the customs union.
Not more fortune tellers hiding behind 'the will of the people' line.
The people are sick and tired of politics and want honesty and action.
We'll be voting Labour.

Theresa May seeks General Election, by yorkie on Jun 8, 2017 14:23:42 GMT 1, Interesting from this side of the pond.... I voted some 10 days ago due to being over in the States ..... would I change who I voted for in the last 10 days - no!
I used to love to watch the results come in but was basically f+cked for work the day after given the time it finishes ..... not here.... I will leave work early, cut the lawn then sit and watch the results come in with a cup of Yorkshire tea and a bunch of rich tea for dipping!

Theresa May seeks General Election, by Bill Hicks on Jun 8, 2017 20:18:29 GMT 1, Dozens of voters have been denied the chance to cast their ballots in a marginal seat amid claims of administrative errors. Postal votes were reportedly not sent out and some potential voters, including students, were turned away from polling stations. Paul Farrelly, the Labour candidate for Newcastle-under-Lyme, said he planned to refer the council to the Electoral Commission over the โshamblesโ, which he said had prevented at least 50 people from voting. The Independent has heard from student voters who were turned away from a polling station near Keele University despite having registered to vote online.
Jonathan Price, 21, said he was told his name was not on the electoral roll when he arrived to vote on Thursday morning. Other people he knew had experienced similar problems, he said.
โIt could actually make the difference here,โ he said.
Newcastle-under-Lyme was won by Mr Farrelly in 2015 with a vote share of 38.4 per cent. The Tory candidate came second with 36.9 per cent of the vote.
Mr Price said he was eventually able to vote after calling a council hotline, but others would not know to contact the local authority directly and would have left the polling station without voting.
It is claimed that in some areas, the printed electoral registers used in polling stations were out of date and did not include those who had recently registered. UK General Election 2017

Theresa May seeks General Election, by chads007 on Jun 8, 2017 22:22:42 GMT 1, Seems as predicted, the wind has turned in recent weeks.. let's see how accurate this exit poll turns out. If correct, a decision to hold a GE completely backfired on May, no where near steam rolled over anyone and short over an overall majority as the polls tightened, and that brexit mandate weakened. Corbyn will have certainly cemented himself from any leadership threats now.
