The artwork looks delicate and fragile. Main reason I never pulled the trigger on an Emin or Kosuth neon.

Fragility is a concern, more for the mirror than the fiberglass element. That material is very durable.

Right now, I am planning to build a second secure box around whatever packaging they provide and then packing it securely using soft materials into my large hard shell suitcase. An over-sized, heavy case is not easy to just sling around so I imagine it is about as safe as courier. Direct flight as well... less opportunity for rough handling.

It may be possible to sweet talk gate agent and flight crew to simply place it in the 1st class coat closet or elsewhere...

Alternative tips and tricks welcomed.

It must be quite a suitcase. This price is quite large, add the packaging plus your extra secure box with soft materials. What is it? 100x70cm?

Suitcase is a xl hard case: 32 inches x 22 inches x 12 inches. Piece is about 24 x 18 x 6 inches "unboxed." We'll see...

I can only go by what I see and I see an opportunist who is exploiting some issues to promote himself and his ready made dada ist art.

 He describes migrants as refugees in his films and interviews and he used an iphone to make a film of migrants prmoting apple phones ignoring the fact that Chinese workers in teh factory in China producing appale phones have comitted suicide.

 I don't know if where you are you have the same problems caused by these migrants that have invaded Germany and Europe and have had to tolerate their behaviour.  I would love to see Ai Weiwei or anyone who supports this mass migration into europe with no vetting of who is entering. Visit Malmo for a week or more and walk aroun freely filming and see how long he lasts before being attacked.

Ai Weiwei in the interview in the video uses very similar words to the ones used by Barbara Lerner Spectre.

 Just like Rothko etc Ai Weiwei is the poster boy supported and financed by the wealthy leftist borgouise who are happy to interfere and bring misery to many whilst at the same time being total hypocrits.

 Most migrants coming into europe refuse to integrate, say the word "integrate" is offensive to them. Refuse to respect the lwas of the countries they have migrated to and play the race card and victim card to get away with crime. People see them for what they are. They come from a back ground and culture that has different values to europeans and has a very mysoginistic attitude towards women.

 Anyone who says open the gates to everyone is either an idiot or supports a criminal agenda prmoted by liars who are changing the lwas of freedom of speech in europe and countries like Sweden creating lists of people who criticise the government policy of mass migration with no vetting. germany also prosecutes anyone who criticises publicly the beaviour of migranst and who mentions the cover ups by teh police and media in Germany. The facts are that if a million for example mainly men from an country are allowed to enter a more prosperous country to be able to get free handouts and housing etc. That a fair percentage of them will be opportunists and criminals. A percentage would have committed serious crimes in their own countrys too.

  You are free to believe what you want but the footage in weiweis films of those guys in boats is not footage of refugees but illegal immigrants. Everyone else has to enter a country the legal way but these guys play the race card and get free everything.

The edition is oversubscribed - there's a wait list now.....

Edition sold out slower than I anticipated, but as I said previously it's a slightly strange looking work - but I suspect will look a lot better in person than in reproduction.

Went to the meet & greet with Ai Weiwei today. Have to say it was great to meet the man and to see the Thinline artwork in real life. Ai Weiwei was very friendly but unfortunately there wasn't much time to talk with him. The Pictures released with the preview don't do the artwork justice. It's very hard to photograph because of all the reflections on the plexiglass box and the mirror at the back.

A representative of the company who is responsible for the lights used for the Thinline artwork,
told me the light is made from fibre with laser light. This gives the red light a subtle sparkle.
The work on display at the meet & greet was an artist proof. The final version will be a bit smaller
around 50cm wide instead of 60cm. The artist proof was powered by an USB power adapter.
I didn't ask about shipping because I'm going to pick it up myself.

Unfortunately I couldn't take a decent picture of the work with my sh*tty Iphone,
but I saw a few people with DSLRs.
Hopefully someone is a member on here and can share the pictures
