Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by Zippy on Aug 16, 2011 23:04:05 GMT 1, Are they available / for sale anywhere at 5-5.5k? Or is that a HH finger in the air comment?
The earlier prints are much more sought after and a classic like WSM is getting v hard to find. I would say £7k ++ (all IMO)!
Laugh now signed's are back over £8k and I have really struggled to find a signed CND and had little luck / no luck on a signed TW.

I would guess signed WSM would be around £6 - £7k, but really value is what someone is prepared to pay for one. If someone offers up £5k for one, and cant buy one for that price, then it's current value is more that £5k.
I was offered £2.5k for my signed CND a while ago, which I turned down, mostly because I have no intention of selling it.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by Sundowner on Aug 16, 2011 23:58:11 GMT 1, From memory I think BRP sold one at a show a few months ago for £7.5k, so I would say £5k - £6k would be a good price for a private sale now, IMO.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by Rolex on Aug 17, 2011 0:30:05 GMT 1, I think howlin's first guesstimate was about right,I get what your saying coach, but if someone offers £5k for a print & doesn't get one for that, it doesn't necessarily mean.it's worth more, it simply means that there's not one for sale at the moment, I think if you were to offer one to the trade (gallery) they would offer £4.5/5k, so to me the value would be 10/20% higher than there offer price. I've just found an old business card that I had scribbled down currant prices on in august 2010 which is when I started collecting banksy. WSM=£4k Nola=£4k Bomb hugger=£5k Kate=£24k No Ball Games =£3k Morons=£3k Grannys=£3k Trolleys=£2.5k J&jill=£2.85k Cnd=£1.85k Donuts=£1.85k G reaper=£4k Laugh n=£6k Worthless=£3k How taste's change in a year All above where signed prices collected from here & eBay august 2010.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by Zippy on Aug 17, 2011 0:39:08 GMT 1, Interesting discussion. If BRP sold one for £7.5k then are they not therefore worth 7.5k? Perhaps a private seller might take less for a sale but 7.5k is it's value.
Rolex, I personally think prices have risen since august and with supply drying up of the older, desirable prints then it's a 'sellers Market' and a seller will determine a price. Whether a buyer chooses to pay / accept that price is their decision!

Zippy I can't agree with you on that, andipa sold GWB for £18.5k that doesn't mean they are worth that, it means some high flyer paid that for it because he thought it was worth it,I still think there worth £10/12k which is how mike (brp) values them. I agree some early prints have shot up in the last year but not this one.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by craigf on Aug 17, 2011 7:52:53 GMT 1, Completely depends on who is looking, where they are looking and how much they value the print / are in the know re pricing. We have been saying that older prints have been drying up for some time now, but they are still out there and the current fiscal problems could increase supply as people need to liquidate assets to pay day to day bills. If selling on here for £5.5k it should go quite quickly, above this would hang around longer, but may well sell.

Fair enough - its good, healthy debate.
Out of interest, how do you know what Andipa sells them for as I thought that would be kept strictly private between Dealer and buyer?

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by des77 on Aug 17, 2011 12:26:32 GMT 1, Id find the cheapest gallery price and still take a lump off. Prints sit here for far less than gallery prices and still take time to sell.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by Goooogle Male on Aug 17, 2011 13:32:54 GMT 1, i spent 6 months trying to find a signed WSM for £5k or less. This was from about last December to June. I had no luck at all, including various posts here on the forums.
Amongst the various people I tried to buy from, I approached the person who was selling via BRP to negotiate a private sale, but he still wanted more than £5k for it.
In the end i spent the £5k on the 'letterbox triptych'; unsigned Weston Super Mare / Bomb Middle England / HAND - and am perfectly happy with my choice!

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by johnnyh on Aug 18, 2011 4:31:00 GMT 1, I bought mine in top condition at auction in March. With COA transferred into my name by POW.
Including auction price and auction house percentage £3,476 exactly.
So I think theprice for these and all art varies a bit depending how much you want it and when the opportunity arises.
It wasn't on my list for that auction but when the opportunity presented I took it. Lucky could afford it at the time.
To be fair I thought it was a great deal then and to an extent this thread proves it was a good deal.
