That hadn’t crossed my mind. There genuinely is no chance of me buying this. I’m spent up buying Xmas presents.

Pejac - Love Letter, by slevin on Dec 3, 2018 22:30:08 GMT 1, For 600 he could have done a timed release with any of his great images he hasn't printed. The fans get a nice decent sized image on the wall for a fair price.
Can't justify 600 for a printed envelope - at least hand draw the figures for that price.

Pejac - Love Letter, by tyty on Dec 3, 2018 23:45:44 GMT 1, I like it. But, on the one hand, I tend to think that timed releases are usually a way for an artist to get work in to the hands of collectors that can’t afford his of her limited editions or originals. Obviously there is no obligation on any artist to do so, but to my mind that is the way timed releases have tended to appear. I think £600 plus tax plus shipping (I think that’s right) just weeks before the expense of Xmas is not affordable for most. It certainly isn’t for me. I think that’s a shame; an opportunity missed. But then again, I’ve always disliked what often seems to be a sense of entitlement amongst some collectors. And there are a plethora of artists that I can’t afford work by. I’m not sure which of my arguments I prefer. I’m in a quandary, and so I sit on the fence. Fine of your presence mr coach - how be the group? funny you should mention senses of entitlement, shall we have a chat about that with niche prints my friend? - maybe this artwork might be more affordable should you sell your cartel print obtained by dodgy means - maybe it might have been more affordable for you had your relation passed a basic GCSE art course and proceeded to make millions - an opportunity missed

Pejac - Love Letter, by Loves Me Some Art on Dec 3, 2018 23:53:11 GMT 1, I hope couple hundred folks who go for this get a fun surprise mini print or something down the line.
The presentation is hard with the front and back but happy he is giving the option of “everyone” to buy, I know he is elusive and exclusive so good on him for that, but the price is steep.

This would have been quite tempting. This one I'll probably pass but good to see him putting out something a little more available.

I know people would be buying if he limited these to 80. A lot are just upset that the upside (flip potential) is not a sure thing.
Are buyers still appreciative of the artwork, or investment driven? Guess the responses suggest the latter.

Guess the responses suggest the latter. I disagree. The artwork here is the letdown for me, not price. There doesnt appear to be as much thought in it in my opinion. Compare it to A Forest, or Wound etc which have multiple meanings. I don't really see how the title and back image tie in.
I think most Pejac collectors are appreciative of the artwork above all else. Yes it's nice if it holds value, but in my case I bought Meadow for 500 quid - if it was just about the flip, I would be selling it now for over 10x my buy in. But I appreciate the art more than money. A lot of us do.

Pejac - Love Letter, by Express Post on Dec 4, 2018 2:17:51 GMT 1, A lot are using the image as an excuse not to buy instead of the price. But in reality they know they are not going to get 4-5x their money like other releases. Everyone wants something for themselves.
By itself, it is a nice, sweet little piece of art. A lot of thought has gone into this release.

Couldn't care less about the flip. Honestly. Have no issue with price point either. I'm genuinely annoyed I finally learn I could own my first Pejac without spending a fortune on the aftermarket and instead of getting a cool print/image like his other print releases, I get a f'in envelope.
Can't imagine I'm the only one.

But it's not an envelope.
It's a hand made paper sculpture with a print on it.

Yes. I am sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Pejacs work isn’t easy to acquire and now that he’s finally doing something accessible, it’s a fucking envelope......that costs £600. There’s no possible way that is what people are upset about.
