On the other hand, I still find it outrageous that anyone who decides to visit the website in good faith at the time stated for public release can find themselves paying 100%+ over the odds, thanks to Counter giving (amongst others) a bunch of flippers the opportunity to get in there first.
I have previously found myself in the former category, and only not so long ago realised that it was possible to get onto the latter category (presumably because I have previously made purchases of works long after they were released, although it took a proactive email from me to get onto the 24 hour pre-release list, rather than being invited).

Shrigley and Bernhardt have both shifted up today. It is a lot of prints for Counter to list in a single day, given they typically release a couple of hundred prints every quarter. If they sell them all it will be the equivalent of a year or so of sales in one go.

Yeah. But what is the profit? It has been known for number crunchers (accountants)to massage the numbers of businesses so losses could be made to minimise taxes.
I.e we made £1.00 gross profit. Therefor we will donate 30p
Or after expenses. Social media. Postage, marketing, salary costs, visits to artists. Meals. Production etc etc etc we made £1million nett profit so will donate £300k
Or we made a loss. Believe it or not the charity owes us
