It doesn't matter what format it is, just that it's a real COA. Any major auction house does its own verification direct with PC. That said, someone has to pay for the £45 + taxes transfer of ownership right? This is when PC issues a new version of the COA. The auction house shouldn't have to pay it. Maybe it's just easier for them to push that cost onto the seller up-front rather than telling the eventual buyer after they've won it? That said, my view is that the buyer should pay for it. I agree!... Even when you buy a house, everything is the responsibility of the buyer.

I dropped PC authentications a line to see if they would change my old cert for the new style. I'm sure they wouldn't want to be inundated with such requests but they may just do it an an ad hoc.
I'm expecting a response from them towards the middle of 2025

Sure... I didn't get good news... but they were quick to give me their answer. The opposite would have been great in my case! 🙂

They are people too... and they will have many things to do (in my opinion it is related to their workload).

I got a confirmation email today (exactly 1 year later to the day - weird) that it had been approved. I've paid my £69 and now I wait to receive the certificate - I hear this can easily take 2-3 months - will report back when I receive it for those who are still waiting.

I’ve emailed a couple of months ago but obviously haven’t had any reply…yet…it surely can’t take this long after payment (i’ve checked it all went through). I don't see how it will help, and it could even hinder ongoing negotiations with PC. If there's no record of the prints being "sold", and they were gifted (even exchanged in some sort of marriage deal), that might be the final decision from PC. But I don't know. Best to keep it private.
Be kinda funny if someone else, or five someone elses, has a Grannies #41.
I can understand your frustration though.

I tried to get in contact with them for over a year from my usual email (from a big isp), but then got an answer within days when I tried from a gmail account. Turned out they didn’t get my mails from the first account at all. We tried a several times. Never happened to me ever before.
Easy to create a gmail account just to try.
I’ve said it before, but if you’re waiting for a reply from PC try another mail account.

I’m not in a rush for the COA since I’m not planning on selling anytime soon but I just want to have it and obviously I’ve paid for it already.

I used same email chain as their authentication approval email to me. I was worried it somehow got lost in the post but I have no way of knowing since I never received a tracking number (I don’t even know if they send that out though?) I’m not in a rush for the COA since I’m not planning on selling anytime soon but I just want to have it and obviously I’ve paid for it already. |
