Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by tab1 on May 26, 2020 20:59:33 GMT 1, Anyone paying £80k for a print from an edition of 600 that has no auction record and no COA being issued for 2 years needs to think very carefully. If I had £80k to spend on a Banksy print I'd be going for one, possibly two equally desirable images that have taken many years to get to the level they are at. Sorry guys, but just for my understanding. Why do you keep saying it's a total edition of 600? Even seeing the photos shared here, it's a Black edition of 300 and a Grey edition of 300. In my opinion the two editions (Black Vs Grey) should be kept separate. For example, the auction houses calculates the total indicated on the same work (obviously, if numbered) in their evaluation - The Black version did not report 600 as total number of copies, but 300. Same thing for the Grey version. Consequence: when later on someone will sell (and I sincerely hope that it will never happen and that everyone will have the decency to leave this beautiful piece of art on their wall) a Black edition will be estimated on a total of 300 (and not 600). The same thing for the Grey edition. Don't you think? Thanks!
On the above basis Choose Your Weapon is an edition of 700?soupcans would seem like an open edition, what do the nolas come in at ? Separate colours , separate editions 🙈 The market is what people are happy to pay fortunately or unfortunately

Meh I didn’t know any better and wanted it in the right hands. Can I ask why you’d feel robbed and/or what you’d expect for that price or what’d you pay for the job?

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by tyler on May 28, 2020 1:38:08 GMT 1, Does it have museum acrylic or museum glass? The museum acrylic could make the price you paid more reasonable.
I would expect to pay $500-600 max with full conservative and museum glass, (add ~$400 if you go for museum acrylic) for that. I don't know NYC prices though.
The framing looks awesome and you still got an amazing print that is valued at over $50k for $2500 all in so I wouldn't be too mad about it. In the future would not go back to that framer because it seems they took advantage of you or they just charge crazy prices!

Optium is museum grade acrylic is it not? The reverse image seems to suggest that’s what’s been used on this occasion. Still seems extremely pricey but, as you say, the acrylic will bump the pricing up.
As said though, it is still a wonderful print and you appear to have taken precautions to look after and conserve it. Enjoy it!

Don’t lose sleep over it.
If you went to a true museum framer the quality will be good and your very valuable print will be safe.

Yes museum acrylic. The framer does work for the MoMA so it stands to reason that I paid a premium for their “name”.

Unfortunately not, understandable in current circumstances. I’m hoping now non essential retail can return to work they get in touch. I don’t think all of them have gone out. Either way I’m looking forward to it arriving!

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by vyrsace on Jun 18, 2020 16:14:00 GMT 1, I don't think it will be hard for a seller to prove authenticity with a) application confirmation / success email / order confirmation from GDP, b) email correspondence from Flight Logistics, c) proper packaging (including the tag you mention along with a couple of other features), but i don't think that's the issue. The issue is the risk a buyer takes on by buying without a CoA in hand. GDP have confirmed that a CoA will only be issued to the buyer at the address the print was delivered to. If the buyer smokebombs / moves house and forgets about the CoA etc., PC could (potentially, in theory) turn down a request for a CoA / change of ownership from the new owner. FWIW I think you’re completely right. I bought mine from source & If anything this piece comes with too much provenance. I think other members are thinking into this way too much! FWIW tldr; lol awks...

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by vyrsace on Jun 18, 2020 16:25:37 GMT 1, Try and sell any Banksy without a COA whether it be a Girl With Balloon or Napalm. It's going to be a problem, Banksquiat sales are no different. No COA no clear ownership, equals risk. Risk = reward If that isn’t for you - don’t buy it. I feel like you’ve posted the same thing 10 times in a week on here. risk = reward is the most risky thing I've ever heard LOL You're a risk taker, I can tell. I feel like you've said this before.... maybe 10 times? tldr;

This print is leagues better. I personally think there is a way you can compare sale ends to this. That's just my opinion though?

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by vyrsace on Jun 18, 2020 16:51:25 GMT 1, $75,000 is inexpensive as this is a "new" Banksy print. Very very hard to find and buy one. I also expect future prices will be much, much more. One of his best images ever! I agree , no idea price wise though. There isn’t such a thing as these coming to market at a discount anymore though. I’m sure this will sit around the signed Nola / choose your weapon price bracket off the bat I’d love one if anyone is willing to part with it in 2 years time? What about 1 or 3 or 5 years time? LMK Not because I want to part with one but because I just want to know. thx.

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by daspui on Jun 19, 2020 22:22:48 GMT 1, For those of you in the NJ/NYC area, can you recommend a reputable framer?
Need to get my Basquiat framed and I am new to all of this. Been a huge Banksy fan for years but I am the furthest thing from an art collector, however I plan to hold on to this piece. Aside from museum quality framing, is there anything in particular I should ask for/look for?
Also, I have yet to open the packaging due to lack of storage in my apartment - feel like at least its safe in the packaging. I plan to open it before taking to get it framed, any tips or things I should look out for? I read the instructions on the package and it seems fairly straight forward.
Thanks in advance.
