Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by Deleted on Feb 27, 2020 14:26:18 GMT 1, Can anyone clear up this earth shattering question so I can get back to work rather than thinking about the colour variation of a bloody print. It's 100% the lighting.

Recommendations on framing?

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by whatisart on Feb 27, 2020 15:11:05 GMT 1, my Banksquiat arrived in black. i am excited to say the least, but (maybe surprisingly), a bit stressed too.
i've never owned a piece of art work other than my own so i'm a bit lost as to what to do.
from what i gather, the steps should be something like:
1. appraisal 2. find an insurer 3. get it framed
my issue is that i am petrified to even take it out of the box! (lol...)
at any rate, if any of you helpful folks have any experience dealing with a similar situation, i'm curious the approach.
the other issue is even finding an insurer. in the UK it sounds like Hiscox is king. in the US, it doesn't seem to be as clear cut.
thanks!

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by Fuzzyduck121 on Feb 27, 2020 15:13:13 GMT 1, Why in the next few hours ?
Your price is literally miles off aswell in my view
I highly doubt any will be listed at anytime soon. The GDP process is slow for a reason
It takes a long time to make quality pieces and even longer to find them good homes
I have no doubt some lucky lottery winners who can change their life will sell eventually but it will not be in large quantities and it won’t be anytime soon

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by LJCal on Feb 27, 2020 15:42:32 GMT 1, I think at £25k you would have a queue of buyers, I'd buy all day long at that price.

Personally, I think it’s one of the most visually and conceptually unappealing prints he’s ever released, right down there with Festival, Sale Ends, and No Ball Games. I dont think your view is the consensus opinion, also due to the size, Basquiat reference and the print being on board it is likely to be sought after by many galleries and collectors should it come to market.
Ultimately the price is based on willing and able buyers and sellers so nobody really knows but my gut feeling says that the prices being discussed will be way way off.
I hope everyone who got one keeps it and enjoys it, for me its an excellent piece.

Yeah, the first auction would be very interesting. I can imagine will be afraid to sell it too cheap at a Buy It Now price, only to find they end up selling for more. Maybe somewhere between £25,000 and £50,000?

It wouldn't have pest which would limit how you could sell it and put off certain buyers but I could see hardcore experienced collectors paying £35-40k for this now maybe more.

Is it possible the grey and black Banskquiat will be in more demand because some collectors would like to display both next to each other ?

I am not sure I understand the issue. Why do want to get it appraisal before frame it? I have my own Black one out the “box” and it is very easy to do, no vorries:) there is also a label outside packed with instruction about how to open packed.,

Mate, best not to open it yourself, take it to a top framers and they will open it in front of you ‘carfeully’. Chose the frame with them, make sure all are fully reversible/museum standard materials, as if you want to sell in a few years you can take it back to the same framer and they will remove and put it back in original packaging 👍 cheers

looking for a "top framer" now. i have heard good things about Rooq in NYC. not sure of any others but welcome the advice.
