Anish Kapoor ๐ฎ๐ณ Sculpture โข Exhibition News, by Rsyok on Nov 11, 2009 14:09:06 GMT 1, Apologies a bit establishment but the Royal Academy have an Anish Kapoor ltd edition print signed and numbered.
www.royalacademy.org.uk/anish-kapoor-124/anish-kapoor-836/product.html?LproductId=836
If you split out the hardback book its only ยฃ30 for the print, be warned though the paper quality is pretty weak in contrast to the book which is top notch.

Anish Kapoor ๐ฎ๐ณ Sculpture โข Exhibition News, by Young Squire on Nov 11, 2009 15:02:13 GMT 1, I am not really sure how these pieces to translate onto a poster?
Seeing these images from one angle or in one point in time seems contrary to their point?

print size is 235x275
The book(and I presume show) is a retrospective showing work from mid 80' to current pieces.

Anish Kapoor ๐ฎ๐ณ Sculpture โข Exhibition News, by Rsyok on Nov 16, 2009 16:11:03 GMT 1, The pic is of the print : "a detail of Greyman Cries, Shaman Dies, Billowing Smoke, Beauty Evoked, 2008-2009, signed and numbered by the artist."
or in less poetic terms random computer controlled cement plops.

Think they've long gone. I popped in Sat... the show took me back to my first self directed gallery visit as a student to see Kapoor in 1992... Got a real indepth look at the show thanks to Lucy, who co-ordinated the show. Had a peek at the maquettes, installation process etc too. Outstanding.

Anish Kapoor ๐ฎ๐ณ Sculpture โข Exhibition News, by afroken on Mar 31, 2010 20:43:11 GMT 1, Politicians chose establishment artist shock!
With all the amazing choices they had, this is a cop out. Only Gormley would have been a bigger cop out. Love 'em both but it would have been nice to have something a little more risky going up.

There will be enough of a public uproar when the daily mail start talking about how much this cost, and at least those that commissioned it have a reputation to fall back on to justify the spend.
If anyone less established was given a huge budget and blank canvas then the furore would be so much worse.
I don't know if it means i'm boring, conformist and establishment but i would actually have preferred a Gormley. I'm not a big fan of this from the images here - and while some of the fly through shots look impressive they're not going to be views most people see.
Is there a gallery somewhere showing other submissions or was this always going to a Kapoor piece?

Anish Kapoor ๐ฎ๐ณ Sculpture โข Exhibition News, by afroken on Mar 31, 2010 23:22:45 GMT 1, That's a fair point but public art seems to be going the same way as architecture with Norman Foster designing everything and no-one else getting a look in. These people are almost court artists / architects to the Labour 'empire'.
This is one of the other entries:
This is Paul Fryer's, which I particularly liked:
Can't find the other two entries.
