It’s not fake and staged. It’s 5 minutes from my house. 5art was cleaned out. A bunch of spots on Melrose were hit. Flightclub down the street from the gallery was completely cleaned out. Look out for several looters wearing $40,000 J4’s. I’m not a sneaker collector, but what sucks about Flightclub getting looted is that a lot of their shoes are on consignment from collectors. Something tells me insurance isn’t going to be quick to give payouts.
I’m hoping things ease up and the craziness stops. Some social media posts state they’re planning on hitting homes next. In the meantime, I’m keeping a few things closer than usual.

With the average police response time in my city, to a call of a violent crime in progress, being 20 minutes right now, I’m thankful I can protect myself and my loved ones.

When you look out your window and see the carnage as though it’s a scene out of The Purge, taking preemptive measures like securing your home and being ready just in case, is far from an extreme measure.
Edit: Just to be clear, I stand with the protestors. There needs to be a change to ensure all humans are treated equally. It’s far overdue. And to be honest, I could care less about the looting; things can be replaced, people can’t. My concern is the violent assaults being perpetrated by the criminals who are hijacking this movement, and the possibility of things getting even crazier. Hunkering down and hoping for the best.

Thought that was rifle ammo first of all, what with the collar, but looking at the clip I'm thinking it's an FN57?

5/30/20 Los Angeles, California, by Sub Method on Jun 3, 2020 17:23:59 GMT 1, yea...there's that, and then there's carefully posed photo ops like the gun picture above. from nyc 🤙💓 Carefully posed? It’s on my coffee table, as it sits for the past three days, no posing here. If you don’t like the pic then don’t f**kinglook at it. Problem solved. from LA🤙🏼💓 I live in LA. The riots are real. The looters are even more real. And innocent people are getting maimed and killed here, you just don't hear about it.
And if any one of you faced the type of carnage outside your home in LA, you would wish you had a firearm to protect you and yours. Don't pretend this is a game. I have lived in Los Angeles for over 40 years. I lived through the '92 riots, I have seen police brutality like no ones business and I have been beaten myself for painting graffiti murals with various graff crews here. Many of which you purchase their art from.
You focus on a photo of a gun resting on a Space Invader book. Seriously? People entertain themselves with fake violence all day compliments of Netflix, Hulu and your daily content subscriptions. People pay to watch violence. A person posts a photo of their fire arm to protect themselves and he gets flack? Really?

Such a different place to the UK
If I went around someones house and they showed me a gun, not sure how I would feel, or what I would do
It's a culture thing for sure, dont think I have ever seen a real life gun, let alone held or fired one (maybe some old ones in Museums etc)
Bad and scary enough here with the knife culture that seems to be unfortunately here to stay
But guns, that's so far way from where we are
If someone breaks into your house, you can shoot them dead legally? No recourse?
Again, good luck though and stay safe, its not a great Year is it

5/30/20 Los Angeles, California, by Sub Method on Jun 3, 2020 17:52:35 GMT 1, You basically grow up here with the understanding that everyone is armed. For instance, we have some of the highest car jacking rates anywhere in the country. We also have many victims shooting those jerks in the face on the driver side when accosted.
In terms of the law and home invasion, the law is if someone breaks into your home, you have to have cause to shoot them. Protecting yourself. Even a break in does not warrant shooting them. You have to have a reason such as they attempted to kill you or rape your spouse. The laws here are absolutely ludicrous. Many of them favor the crook. For instance, I had two punks break into both my cars in front of my house. I have video of them on camera getting into my rides and stealing my things. When I spoke to the cops, they stated I could not shoot them or even attack them with a bat. I would be at fault. Never mind they are trespassing, never mind they entered my private property...they have to be physically threatening my life with a weapon to even remotely prosecute them.
Crazy world.

No recourse? Again, good luck though and stay safe, its not a great Year is it I guess it is a culture thing. Unfortunately guns are everywhere in the US. If the bad guys didn’t have them, I wouldn’t either. Although I have come to enjoy target shooting as a hobby.
In CA, if someone breaks into your house, you can’t shoot them dead unless you are in fear for your life. Say, for instance, an 80 year old woman at home shoots a male intruder. Her decision to shoot the intruder because she was in fear of her life is much more believable than say a 200lb middle aged man shooting a 100lb unarmed kid who breaks in.
It’s a very subjective approach, and a bit confusing tbh. Other states have what’s called the Castle Doctrine and/or Stand Your Ground. Not sure how I feel about those, from what I’ve seen it seems like there are instances where that law has been abused by trigger happy people. Fingers crossed I never have to be put in a situation where I have to use a firearm. The last thing I want is more violence. Thanks for the well wishes. 2020 has definitely gotten off to a rocky start.

Have a bit of a dual perspective, because I'm British, but my former business partner in the US owned a sporting goods store, so we used to shoot a lot. I loved it, I have to say, but it was still as surreal experience to see so many openly armed people (Pennsylvania, so open carry is a given). I didn't feel particularly unsafe, just bemused more than anything. I think our gun laws in the UK are pretty good, on the whole. As much fun as firing pistols was, I don't feel the longing for one in the UK, certainly not for self-defence, despite the dodgy areas I've lived in. Different society, of course. I just get my kicks vicariously now watching Demolition Ranch on YouTube

5/30/20 Los Angeles, California, by Knowss on Jun 3, 2020 18:38:19 GMT 1, Typical. Take the toys leave the banksy. 100% that photo is fake and staged. I'm surprised that one is legal in California lol
