Fair enough. Just seems like if treble hadn’t been such a relentless ass you probably wouldn’t have gone to the effort.
For what it’s worth I’d still prefer to have a set of these up on my wall over the recent crumpled giveaways and people are paying nuts prices for those. Ultimately these were never going to be selling for tens of thousands at Sotherbys but I reckon they’ll still be a decent market for them because a Banksy original acetate was used (If anyone is selling cheap now hit me up! Lol)

They were also clear they didn’t think the sleaze nation stencil was by Banksy, but it was!
What I take from their statement is that whatever may have been agreed back in the day, Banksy didn’t agree to this rerelease. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t, maybe, verbally agree to the release all those years ago, or that Clown don’t have a right to release them.
(I don’t own them by the way)

Can you confirm the new edition of 80 sets of three Banksy Clown Test Series Skate Decks are an official release from Banksy, approved by Banksy or in anyway anything to do with Banksy.
I'm splitting hairs here but the email reply says "no agreement" not no permission. There is no way these would have got to be released if Banksy hadn't let it happen. There was 6 months between them initially being sold and production. The wording of your email to PC could only be answered one way, I imagine if you'd have asked differently the answer would have not been the same. They had no permission to re release these, now this puts all the talk to bed. I have nothing against "anyone" in the thread, just posting the facts for everyone to see

An artist creating artwork is one thing, but you'd need to have an agreement of how that art work can be used after the fact. Such speculation, What I know is what I know & some I cannot say 😏😏

I think you will have a similar reply from PC relating to many items related to but not released by Banksy, the entirety of Laz’s releases for example, anything labelled ‘after-Banksy’ in recent years, everything has a market.

Personally I don’t see the big deal. An item that was never going to get authentication by pest control still isn’t going to get authentication. These are still made using original Banksy acetates so does the fact they aren’t ‘authorised’ mean that the acetates used magically aren’t by Bansky anymore?
Let’s face it that’s the only reason people were buying them. He was never pulling the screens himself.
