View the current prices as starting bids with the lense that bidding starts in the last hour or so, perhaps even later. 2) Prices cannot keep increasing at this rate forever. You'll probably see record after record for the most iconic images such as Girl With Balloon and LIITA, but the hammer prices of other prints will fluctuate naturally. No single fluctuation is evidence of a dip, correction, drop in demand or overall falling prices as so many of you think it is. Condition and competition on the day are often disregarded when people make these blanket statements. 3) Given the very sharp increases seen in the last year, I assume that there isn't much more room for huge jumps in price, the exception being images that are still undervalued (Nola for example). Most prints will appreciate YoY in excess of interest rates.

It may have just been the server stuggling given the volume of trafic as a similar thing happened the day before and they had to extend a sale, or maybe it's something nefarious, who knows? It's not a massive deal for me as I can live without one more print but from a seller's point of view it's important Christie's get to the bottom of what happened.
No idea, what is going on but I can 100% confirm I was unable to place a bid on a lot that showed 3 minutes left to go and I kept getting error messages on other lots. It may have just been the server stuggling given the volume of trafic as a similar thing happened the day before and they had to extend a sale, or maybe it's something nefarious, who knows? It's not a massive deal for me as I can live without one more print but from a seller's point of view it's important Christie's get to the bottom of what happened.
