Probably not and thatโs understandable to me, even if hypocritical. To not want migrants to come to your country doesnโt mean you want harm to come to those migrants on their route. Banksy putting migrants on the boat without knowing what he can do next is a bold move to shed light on the situation, easily pigeonholed but better than doing nothing.

The rescue initiative in the Med has been going on for some time now. So that aspect, and the legal complexities, remain unchanged.
The only new thing is that they were given a better boat and renewed publicity. Full credit to Banksy for lending his support in this way to an ongoing effort to save migrant lives in the Med.

All the media coverage this is getting, will hopefully bring even more awareness to the situation and more help.
Only downside I can see though, is the possibility of many more now making the dangerous crossings, thinking they will get picked up.
A horrible situation and decision for anybody to have to make.
