Best of 2020!, by John The Badgers on Dec 15, 2020 20:09:15 GMT 1, Trying to generate some UAA Christmassy positivity, and would be interested in what things you most enjoyed this year?
Appreciate its not been the best year, but after what you have enjoyed this year in this here art world.
Favourite release? Best thing you have bought? Something you have received?
I'll start the ball rolling...….
Firstly, never had a bad experience on here, sold a couple items, bought way too much, and been on the receiving end of some right nice gestures from people - wont be forgotten.
My favourite? Done some pondering I can tell you. Love the new Bridget Riley release, the Stik poster a cracker, and those Opie statues?
But my vote goes to the Harland Miller poster. For me, gives me great memories of a top weekend visiting what was for me the best exhibition I've been too -
Would be great to see what you have most enjoyed.

Potentially offered to cinema owners on the opening night in Japan, this rare poster from one of the most influential anime films of all time comes printed on tea paper, which gives the piece its distinct coloring.
(BTW, i'm currently searching for the bilingual edition english-japanese, with obi on each volumes, feel free to PM)

Also liked the Stik news paper things, was fun, wife got involved and is somewhat obsessed with the art of Stik.
I've bought some proper shit though this year, what's with the toys and crap, and why did I buy them?

Best of 2020!, by rinz on Dec 15, 2020 22:52:13 GMT 1, 2020 have been my first year of art collecting. My interest started after half a year in Lisbon, where i saw some amazing street-art and an unofficial Banksy Exhibition. From there on i haven't stopped looking in here, IG and other art places. I think i can say, 2020 was the year i became an art addict. My collection has went from 0 to a great little collection.
When i started to follow this forum i first got interested in Murmure Street. I set a target, that i wanted to be able to buy my first original - and it should be from them. I was lucky to refresh my email 10 secs after their sale-catalogue for their first solo show came, and therefore i secured myself my first OG artwork. And today it is still my favourite! Thank you to everyone in here who contribute and share their great knowledge, i love to read, look, discover and learn more about art in 2021

Best of 2020!, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Dec 16, 2020 7:06:35 GMT 1, One of the best results of 2020 was the uncovering of all these fakes that people have spent their hard earned on. Hope it all gets resolved.
Print wise I have been good and didn't buy anything as saving for a big family trip (once countries open up).. I did like those Hush prints released the other day and must say I agree with the OP that Harland miller poster was a great image and quality looks great for the price 👍

Best of 2020!, by Brittany's Urban on Dec 16, 2020 9:56:23 GMT 1, At first, thanks to the forum members who offered me the opportunity to discover many artists. I was not supposed to buy a single thing, but I did buy many! My top list would be the following: 1. Banksy Welcome Mat 2. Ernesto Yerena HPM 1/1 3. Vhils "Core" 4. Cleon Peterson "The Marchers", old one but added to the collection this year! 5. Shepard Fairey "Protect the sacred", old one but added to the collection this year! 6. Dran "500mg"
Now I am thinking not to buy anything new in 2021 but I have some doubts!

Best of 2020!, by charliec2701 on Dec 16, 2020 10:05:59 GMT 1, Been quite a busy year with artist releases for positive causes. Some better quality than others I must add. Al WeiWei masks v the TK Maxx Peter Blake masks, the beautiful Hirst Hearts and Rainbows v the Hirst Forever & Fruitfful. Both worthy causes with the latter being purchased in many cases for personal greed and flipability albeit misguided rather than genuine love for the charity.
This year I acquired far too much art, Harlands, Hirsts, Richters, Wei Wei, Haring amongst others BUT by far and the easiest decision as to the best of 2020 that has to be the £35 York poster that in sheer printing quality is worth x10 that price for RRP !! It’s of outstanding quality and shows just how good a quality affordable art could be. We must also remember the effort York gallery went to to keep their word and fulfil promised orders. Outstanding work all round.
