Shrig Shop Launches....., by artlife11 on May 26, 2023 12:58:11 GMT 1, €1,800 plus €120 shipping for screenprint editions of 125? 😬 I have been collecting Shrigley prints from Jealous gallery mainly for a few years. I thought he was doing too many but now think that’s not true as market growing and always sell out. I think the upcoming Shrigley only auction will be crucial to his market going forward. He seems to be picking up new fans and prints look great in houses and also in groups together.

Shrig Shop Launches....., by Richy Rich on May 26, 2023 13:15:42 GMT 1, I'm guilty of buying some very questionable art in the past but why are people still buying this s#*t? Dude's churning out £2k prints and laughing at you all the way to the bank.

He seems to be picking up new fans and prints look great in houses and also in groups together. His prints do not always sell out, and with the increased regularity of releases, they struggle to sell out due to the tiering system. The release pages at Jealous and Nicolai Wallner make this clear. Only the best images sell out.
Furthermore, while I would say that under normal circumstances a single-artist sale would be a great event, it is taking place at the worst possible time, only online, in a garbage market. We’ve also seen what the frequency of such sales did to Banksy’s market, should this be more than just a one-off event.

Shrig Shop Launches....., by Lroy on May 26, 2023 13:35:42 GMT 1, Easy pass ! 1800 € for that drawing made in two minutes. He is really exaggerating and a bit indécent : Why to make a 120 euros shipping for everybody ?!! He lives in Europe, so for France, it should 25/30 euros ! And waiting for a print untel September ?! Has he always been like that or does he needs more and more money ?!
Look

Shrig Shop Launches....., by Display_arts on May 26, 2023 13:59:09 GMT 1, I think the shipping is not the expansive part.
It’s the packaging. The last Shrigs came all in big expansive cardboxes.
I still love his paintings. Ofc there are some that I don’t like and I also think that there were to many
Releases end of last year (especially with the 4 releases at the same time), but it doesn’t make 2k a horrible price
For good looking prints.
The printing technique takes time and the prints all look like self paintet!
I Love the skull, don’t like the pepperoni.
As often: don’t buy if you don’t like it.
People are salty because they didn’t make easy money on early released Shrigs I guess

I can't afford it... and I don't think I'll get one like this either. Better to buy for example a handmade bag from Lady Pink... for only 20 dollars!... If you ask to sign everything... she also fulfills your requests. (Still waiting for someone from the Invader staff to get back to me about an autograph on a book?).
If you want... some are still available!... They are original works... Lady Pink shop...

Shrig Shop Launches....., by topper on May 26, 2023 16:48:04 GMT 1, No problem with the price or the artwork. It's shrigley, what would you expect? Any less than this and they'll be snapped up and on eBay 3k+ before the days out. If you love the art he has quality poster range that's made bigger all the time. My issue is, how long is he going to do this for? Is he not going to change it up at all? It's like Hirst only ever pickling animals. This is why I don't have such a problem with big artists getting ripped off by new guys. It keeps things moving. (Vice versa is a always a no-no of course)

The answer is in this photo ( Matisse ) .
it’s not a seller or painter of watermelon, lemon , chili etc … nor an owner of pets, cats, dogs and animals ( speaking I forgot, quotes mostly ) Shrig ‘ uses and abuses of his « procédé » ( en Français dans le texte ) to flow the market, his market with posters ( at 45 £ unlimited ) , tats, or prints ( we have discussed of the prices ⬆️). It’s funny but the lack of soul.. where is the Spontaneous creativity ?
I would not said that, if David Schrigley ( there is a thread about buying art or not ), would not producing one, two, three, prints, books, posters, etc with watermelon, dogs, orange, bananas etc ..
The end of the story : too much is too much. And expensive too. But, as usual, if you like it, buy it, even all of them …
Anyway I like the guy and the artist too, but just sometimes for his artworks.

Shrig Shop Launches....., by zoomrider on May 27, 2023 20:24:14 GMT 1, Ignoring pricing for a moment… which of these two images do you prefer? The “everything is fine” print has more detail/texture and a straightforward message but I’m not sure it’s particularly wall friendly (skull and crossbones a little morbid/not for everyone). The chilli I was immediately drawn to as bold and great use of colour, but I’m not entirely sure of the message sentiment… and although I do actually like the print, when i consider price, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t struggling with the simplicity of the piece. Yes this is Shrigley and that conversation often occurs (his whole style is “simple”, that’s the point) but this is way more simple that most!
So the chilli is my favourite/more wall friendly but I dare say, when considering the price (where price really does come into it!) it’s hard not to think I could paint something like it myself (and yes I know it’s one thing to just say that!) so why on earth am I spending £2000 of my hard earned on it?! Not to mention how prolific Shrigley is at knocking out these prints.
