I got offered the skull - also my favourite of the two. Though I love chillies, the skull is more interesting to me.

Have also decided not to buy the skull. If anyone wants the skull send me a message and I will forward the email.

I wonder why so many people apply to a lottery and don’t have the intention of buying when they win - like a few days later - price and the artwork haven’t changed.

Than I remind myself where we are here, if it’s not a 100% profit people pass on stuff and tell themselves afterwards that they are of course still collectors - but maybe only if they possibly can flip it easy.

It’s sad, I am not a member here for to long but it’s really obvious that there are not many real collectors here - especially in the shrigley section.

I would wish that Shrigshop try to give away all of them via lottery if there are enough applications, but I doubt they will consider it. Would be awesome if all flippers didn’t get them and all would have been sold out, wishful thinking.

This release will not sell out, at least for the first week.

These are terrible print images. Sad. Shrigley posts an image+ per day on Instagram. Why not have a tally/vote for the image people want most as a print?

Do people realise you can’t forward the offer email. There is no special link in it. The purchase is authenticated against the entry name and address.

What does it mean to be a collector exactly?
To buy art with only the intention to keep forever?

Speaking for myself, I buy art which I love. That said, when galleries (artist shops) price pieces high, in an edition release such as this.. It's common sense to question the value of the pricing.

However long you keep it, art is still an investment.

You likely would not want to buy a house that goes immediately into negative equity straight after purchase. In this case, I believe it's valid to question the pricing as galleries of late are taking advantage quite regularly.

Heni could be seen as a good case in point. The Empresses for example.
Knowing the market is important. It does not immediately make you a flipper.
And if you are a flipper that's cool too. The holier than thou pov on this forum has gotten so old.

Well, you know ma position about our friend Shrig' its profusion of prints and its unalterable creativity, although sometimes a little repetition, and prices oing up up up...
Anyway, I do'nt understand so much this thread, is a launch of new prints still an event ?

It must be said that there is not much to get your teeth into in this matter of art or street-art (apart from the eternal and everlasting, Heni, Kaws, Hirst... Modern art they say..

If you follow his instagram, you can clearly see which images are more popular based on likes and comments. He seems to be in a bit of a rut this year based on the numbers, especially in the last few months. I personally would recommend he consider images that received around 50k likes as potential print candidates. That's just my subjective opinion of course. “ likes “ mean nothing. Artists, stars, great sportsmen, etc .. ( mostly with the blue professional symbol ) buy followers. One photo posted and it’s flooded with likes already. They earn money with that too. I don’t know really how is working this social media  promotional system, as I don’t run after followers nor likes. If you look well, despite 41 K likes per example, there are sometimes only dozen or hundred comments.
