Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by theclash on Jun 10, 2021 13:03:29 GMT 1, Just had a wander around the exhibit. Pretty cool to see many of the works that are talked about on here in person all in one place. Couple of thoughts incase anyone cares
Banksy: relatively few prints on offer Jonas Woods: these are outstanding, both the tennis courts and the sketches Koons: was surprised to actually really like the balloon dog statues Opie: couple of really great prints. The walking ladies which are dynamic are really cool Heni: was surprised that didn’t actually like the Richter prints that much in this form, the reflection was quite off putting. Hirst lots of great editions Emin: These Counter Edition portfolio of 8 was outstanding Shrigley: a collection of 8 and I have to say, they really look great on person; Rabbit, Whale and Elephant are just so good Lichtenstein: really great Warhol: some really great collections on offer
Loads others and I really recommend having a wander around if you are in London

Looks like its about 20-25% off peak for the prints on offer but plenty of bidding so perhaps this is things stabilising. Yeah this was always going to happen after all those big price jumps. What goes up must come down True, it is not an easy time for Banksy's u / s prints, especially for some in particular such as Weston Super Mare for example. No it's an easy time even for collectors / investors who bought a few months ago (during the peak). Like me, who bought a Weston Super Mare in very good condition for £ 30k.
But that's not the point, I'm happy all the same, on the contrary, tomorrow he will arrive from the framing and I will hang it on the wall with great satisfaction (I will show you a picture of how it came 🙂).
The point is that sometimes there are rude people who make fun of others for no particular reason, and this is not nice!
PS: I tell you in public. My print is not for sale I hope the message is clear enough.

was merely proving my point. I offered you £20k for it yesterday. Which is way above the hammer price of today.

Unless I’m mistaken that is a screenshot of a PM If it is, in the absence of threatening or abusive behaviour, or an attempted scam, or something similarly grave, it’s poor form to share a PM. The P is for private. If I am mistaken, my apologies

The fact it is below what you paid isn’t my problem.
Id rather you didn’t share my PM’s in public but I’m not too bothered.

I like it a lot!
My Bridget Riley Chicago 8 print up in the Philips day sale tomorrow following on from the evening sake tomorrow. £5-7k estimate. Been told it will do well by Philips but you never know at auction. If you are thinking of bidding it’s going to a good cause ( ie me - only kidding) www.phillips.com/detail/bridget-riley/UK030221/317No snide comments tomorrow when it fails to sell !!!!!!!! Will definitely sell. Good luck. I like it a lot!
