Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by salinas31 on Jan 20, 2022 20:52:11 GMT 1, Bridget Riley - Measure for Measure hammer price was £6500 which is currently showing as the sold price - premium would then be on top that. They may change the sold prices to reflect that later but as far as I can tell the prices shown are hammer prices.

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by JFCC on Jan 21, 2022 11:21:54 GMT 1, Good auction, good prices for sellers and an excellent job from the Auctioneer.
For the sake of completeness here are the full prices for the Banksy pieces sold.
The Phillips website quotes the price without buyers VAT which is charged off the premium which if you are in the UK you would have to pay (you also would have to pay equivalent to import the pieces to Europe and the USA) so it represents the full cost paid.
They were good results:
Kate - Hammer £190k - All up - £256k Flower Thrower (u/s) - Hammer £80k - All up £108k Girl With Balloon (u/s) - Hammer £130k - All up £176k Choose Your Weapon (purple) - Hammer £120k - All up £162k Napalm (s) - Hammer £55k - All up £75k
Also for those who missed the Hessink's Auction an AP of LIITA sold for £342.4k in December 2020.

Also, I think the Hessink was Dec 21 not 20..so maybe a typo

I only put December 2020 for Hessinks but thank you it was 21st 😁✌️🙏

If the seller is a good customer or has something nice / special to sell then a seller might get the full hammer price.

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by gd79 on Jan 22, 2022 10:53:08 GMT 1, There are some auctions I look at where the fees can reach 40%. Hammer fee, ARR, VAT on that etc.
So if it hammers at £1k:
Buyer pays £1400 Seller receives £850-1000
Quite the spread!
eBay's authentication service is an interesting move for them to take more of this regional auction action. The spread is dramatically tighter. It mainly applies to watches and bags at the moment, but if it was extended into prints etc it would be useful
I'll probably buy my next watch from eBay as a result, try out the service.

Yeah it’s tanked ages ago and never really bounced back. Most stuff unless it has a penguin on it hovers above cost these days for recent releases and at auction that would mean taking a loss
Also manifold are a horrific bunch that aren’t doing him any favours at all
Also he’s run out of ideas

Haha…appreciate the frank answer! Makes me feel less bad about dropping out of the bidding. Maybe one day I’ll get one with a Penguin at release for first tier pricing 😂

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by JFCC on Jan 23, 2022 0:43:03 GMT 1, Would the fact that the Kate is an AP made much of a difference on the price achieved?
An AP seems in general to be worth 20% on top of the signed price in most cases. GWB and LIITA are different as particularly with GWB they are worth up to twice the signed price. PPs are worth the same if not a little more.
