But I guess you agree with me that the Provenance the auction house uses is wrong it should be stated that the artwork was not sold during the REAL art stunt but to a collector after the the art stunt the buyer was well aware that he bought a real Banksy. There is total different valuation on the artwork if it was sold during the real art stunt or after the event to a super rich art collector

These canvases were “part of the CP stunt” which is what matters ultimately.
The auction house has indeed bent the story (maybe inadvertently, probably even) but that shouldn’t affect the value one way or the other

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by snider on May 12, 2019 18:13:34 GMT 1, If it is the original ballerina that was shown in the CP the value is much less then the ones that was sold during the stunt . (The auction house is really making us believe that it was sold during the event ref: Provenance:...)
If it is true as was said that after he stunt the rest was sold to COLLECTORS the CP stunt is not as good as first presented..therefore it is hard to belive that Banksy would actully do that... the main artwork is in the event of putting originale artwork outside its normal environment!! (and the event is not about banksy collectors buy real banksy work knowing it is real banksy work)
The difference in valuation is huge..... It is like the original Shredded baloon girl from Sothesby will always be much more worth then any other Shredded ballon Girl that would be made in the future...It is all about the art stunt!!!

Not that I care too much but yes. These were sold to people via Pest Control after the event. I don’t see why that matters at all.

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by snider on May 12, 2019 18:46:13 GMT 1, For people taking part in the bidding it would matter! It should also matter to all the people that love the CP art stunt. It has a different meaning if Pest Control sells the rest the art works that did not sell in CP as they were sold in CP during the event....

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by Harveyn on May 12, 2019 19:02:32 GMT 1, For me if its one of the pieces from the actual stunt whether it sold before or after the stunt would make little if any difference.
That said the low estimate on this is way more than punchy and I would be amazed if this sells.
Personally I like the image but prefer this one.

I think it matter very much if it if it was sold DURING stunt... because the STUNT was the real artwork. Indeed a good point and very true. The stunt was the artwork but then my argument would be the pieces involved in the stunt whether sold or not are of equal value if you indeed value the stunt over the artwork itself. I believe this work was actual from the stall.

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by Viking Surfer on May 13, 2019 0:50:26 GMT 1, I almost bid on the Angel head at auction but forgot to set my alarm. Woe is me.
Also, I don't think whether or not a work sold on the stall or after makes very little difference to value. It was still a part of the stunt. Who cares if it sold or not.

However, the estimate on the other one in the auction that you flagged seems way over the top for a relatively ' average' image and piece..but who knows.. it only takes two people who want it i guess www.phillips.com/detail/BANKSY/HK010119/20?fromSearch=banksy&searchPage=1Then again, what do i know?? "Average" image G. I always knew you had VERY bad taste in art but you've beaten my expectations !!! ;-)

And as for your comment about me having Very bad taste in art...

Strange That Pensato is amazing I'm guessing it's because it's not an auction, and they don't want to print the asking price. And maybe their site don't allow for a "Request Price" option.
Looks like a good show.

The other favorite in this auction is the Eddie Martinez, sadly never jumped on his work before the prices went crazy.
