I'm the Damian Hirst Fraudster, by vincentlopreto on Feb 25, 2022 19:22:34 GMT 1, I did all the Eyestorm prints myself--it's easy getting lambda prints made in NYC and LA. I also printed "etchings" and "screenprints" on a large format Epson printer I owned. I used the correct paper.
I made a lot of spin paintings myself and those "Mickey" and "Minnie" prints.
I outsourced many spin paintings and spot paintings to other artists.

I'm the Damian Hirst Fraudster, by cizza19 on Feb 25, 2022 21:53:07 GMT 1, No. 90% of my clients were actually well-known "legitimate" art dealers, art advisors, art appraisers, auctioneers, architects, curators, gallerists, interior designers, and decorators. They knew the stuff was fake. They would then sell the prints they paid about 5K for and resell for about 20K+. Spin paintings sold considerably higher. I still see my art online at many galleries all over the world. but knowing that they sold it to people thinking they were buying the real deal you feel no remorse?

I'm the Damian Hirst Fraudster, by Jules Leotard on Feb 25, 2022 22:03:00 GMT 1, I hope theres no ulterior motives there Matt and you're still just bitter over your Tesco Soup?๐ค well assuming u can surmise my motivations, that easily, wether negative or positive, puts u in the fortune telling business no? read my palm next? donโt worry tho, if u c me flogging dozens of DH prints next week on UAA, just consider it a coincidenceโฆ. ๐ I'll be in LIC all next week. I actually grew up in Queens--Rosedale. I went to Holy Cross HS. nice, iโll dm u my cell, monday is pretty flexible, lmk! If you have a burner Hirst poster laying around, it would be 'fun' to have him sign it with his real name and maybe bring paint in a dropper he could drip some dots on it.

I'm curious too. If you created and sold reproductions or "in the manner of" versions and then the next guy sells them as authentic, you would be on the hook for copyright infringement as opposed to forgery/ fraud. I am guessing Vincent was well aware of how they were being passed along?

I'm the Damian Hirst Fraudster, by sfnyc on Feb 25, 2022 22:13:08 GMT 1, I wonder what is the greater con: one that manipulated and inflated his own auction results/valuation to sell hundreds of millions of art painted/printed by anonymous assistants? The scammy galleries/art market? Or the fact that a self described untalented forger could replicate them all easily and pass them on as real works of art?

I'm the Damian Hirst Fraudster, by avec art on Feb 25, 2022 22:24:31 GMT 1, I think someone experienced with screen prints and woodblocks and so on are not easily duped, even when the right paper is being used. They appear embossed for a start (because the paint/medium literally is) which you don't have with a ink jet or lazer jet giclee. Although I'm sure a lot of people are fooled, especially if the print isn't examined in person prior to purchase.
