Visit NEW YORK ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by pfffffffffft on Aug 19, 2008 13:38:05 GMT 1, Guys, I'm going to be in New York Tuesday 9th September until Sunday 14th September, can any residents or regulars give me some pointers on things to see and do (relating to urban art) whilst I am there? In particular: Any shows at that time? Any good POW-style stores / galleries? Any particular pieces etc. I should seek out? I'm also a huge faile fan, so anything relating to them would be particularly good. Any NYC residents with some nice art to sell or swap in person? thanks in advance Ed
There is an Aiko show opening Sept 13th at brooklynite gallery.
TLP - FF - eine at Ad Hoc gallery Sept 12 I believe
Both galleries in brooklyn

Visit NEW YORK ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by chablis on Aug 19, 2008 21:06:57 GMT 1, Me if I was heading to New York, I would use this fabulous invite from the Brooklynite Gallery.
The pictures speak for themselves, but it is for the "SHUT UP and LOOK" show which is on from 13th September until 11th October, it is hand worked and is a piece of art in it's own right.
Anybody else receive one?

Stayed there for 8 nights last week. AMAZING! Going through a bit of a hard time with new change of management but damn. LOVED IT! LOVE NY! THAT is how you build a city. 2nd avenue opposite Urban Outfitters for Banksy Rat and Ye olde Carlton Arms for enough old school Banksy. Ring the bell and enjoy. Brooklyn is also great. Lots of great art to see. Banksy, Faile, Obey, Haring, Hirst. Visit MOMA, Buba Gump Shrimp Company (Beaut), Boodaka, The London, Lower East Side is amazing for a serious piss up. Plus above everything the Ghostbusters building (Hook Ladder 8). VIVA THE CHELSEA.

Visit NEW YORK ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by covertshadowops on Oct 27, 2008 13:53:21 GMT 1, okay guys... and gals.
i am going to NYC for 5 nights in a week or so.
i need a hotel or hostel or B&B, whatever is cheapest. i know the US dollar rate is falling thru the floor, but cant help that.
i need a place to stay that meets these requirements.
WIFI room connection, private bathroom, clean, safe and cheap. UNDER $100 a night if possible
can be in manhattan or brooklyn. even staten island, but i gotta get the ferry everyday that could be a pain.
i dont need a swimming pool, or breakfast, or any extras.
a bed and a bathroom, clean and simple.
i see places like JAZZ HOSTELS could be an idea, but their private rooms are booked for the period i am going.
Bed minus the breakfast will do...
any ideas greatly appreciated.
Cheers in advance!

I stayed at Jazz on the town a few years ago and it was fine, but obviously that's no use to you if they're booked up.
