Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Deleted on Feb 7, 2023 14:19:54 GMT 1, I dropped in to Heni to see these in the flesh yesterday, and they actually look more interesting than I expected. One thing which became immediately apparent was that anyone considering buying to hang needs to give careful thought to where they'll be hanging them. To my mind, neither Camouflage nor Country Life (nor Marilyn to a certain extent) worked at all when viewed from any closer than about 3 metres. I wouldn't consider either of these for a small room or a hall or stairway. Perhaps that's one reason for the cube image โ it's simple enough to work, at least kind-of, close-up. That said, the cube is still far and away my least favourite of the four. To my eye, Marilyn was surprisingly effective โ far more so than country life, which I found impossible to really process, no matter where I was viewing it from. Maybe it's just because Marilyn is such an iconic image that my brain found it easy to interpret and to fill in all the missing detail, whereas Country Life just looked too blocky and lacking in detail to work for me. For those that love the image it might well be a very different story. As for the selection of images, they may not be to everyone's taste โ is anything ever to everyone's taste? โ but I got the impression that the artist was heavily involved in the selection process. That won't make them any more appealing to the haters, of course... but let's at least put the responsibility where it belongs. Up close, the photographic origins of the images really comes through, disappointingly. Standing in front of them, I really couldn't convince myself that they were anything other than photographic reproductions, although of extremely high quality. On the plus side, they do have a lot more life and character than I was expecting. All the detail of the original images is preserved, the obvious involvement of the human hand in assembling them, and the big, heavy chunks of resin gives them a real solidity. And of course, the majority of prints are photographic repdroductions, ultimately, so I see no reason to be especially hard on these particular ones on that basis. At least two, and arguably three, of the four are strong images. All are well reproduced and immaculately presented, and they fulfill Heni's aim of making high-end art accessible. Where else are you going to get a signed Invader at this price? I'm really confused about this one. I hoped seeing them up close would help me reach a decision, but if anything it's made it even more difficult. The cube and Country Life are, for me, an easy pass, but Camouflage and Marilyn are genuinely impressive pieces I'd be happy to hang โ if I had enough wall and floor space. But 3 grand isn't cheap for a giclee, and I don't, as a rule, buy giclees. Although there's always an exception to every rule. Five more days to decide... Hope this helps anyone who's as uncertain as I am.
Great shots. Thanks for sharing.

Good reminder. Done.
I mainly use Tapatalk for this. It automatically compresses quotes, so I donโt experience that issue.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Johnny Sarcasm on Feb 7, 2023 14:37:42 GMT 1, Hello. Definitely try to see these in person because the photos I took on my phone look better than the photos I was taking a picture of, if you get my drift. The fact you can see rows and columns of the sides of each cube just looks really odd IMO. Do agree with some comments on here that the further away you are the better they look. That said Iโll be staying a long way away ๐

So imagine a nice Banksy original piece, on a brick wall somewhere. Whichever one you like, it doesn't matter.
Like thousands of other people before them have all been free to do, someone snaps a sweet high def photo of the piece. It's a picture of a Banksy work. There are millions of them out there.
That photo (it's a picture of a Banksy work that everyone has seen, has been published in books, etc.) gets blown up to 100cm x 100cm and printed on aluminum.
Sir Banksy himself has agreed to sign as many of them as can be sold.
-------
Just a thought exercise. Develop your own views of the artistic merits of the piece vs. the value of the signature on the back vs. how you think of Banksy afterwards vs. whatever else floats your boat...
OK.

If you like it buy it. If not, donโt. Iโm sure many of you have images of rats or colored dots (I love Hirst) up on your walls! ๐
All in good fun.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Zippy on Feb 7, 2023 16:14:13 GMT 1, I am popping in to Heni tomorrow with a forum member to view them (and then go to the pub for hours). So best I go there first whilst still able to hold a phone and point it the right way round.
If anyone wants specific pics from a certain angle or distance, let me know. If a video helps, I can do that but may need assistance uploading it.
A few US forum members have helped me out in the past with viewing pieces for me, so happy to return the favour. I can WhatsApp you / FaceTime from there if you are up?

The final label doesn't exist at this point, as the final number edition is not known. I doubt these four are even signed.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by thos on Feb 7, 2023 19:05:15 GMT 1, Same as everyone else, I'm on the fence on these. The wallet's a bit tighter these days.
And I keep going back and forth on which one(s) I like most.
I think one thing that would have made me an early buyer would have been if they had done something "extra" to make it more than just a highly reflective photograph; imagine if they had screenprinted matte lines between the cube faces, so it's not all just shiny reflections.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by LJCal on Feb 8, 2023 0:23:41 GMT 1, it would cost way more to screenprint these, labour and materials would be triple the cost I highly doubt that. Screen printing anything is cheap as chips. And these are straight color separation... you could easily have these printed, in this size, for less than $40.00 each (and I'm being very generous here). Maybe not if you do it to through some high-end overpriced print "publisher", but many screen printing shops could do it with no problem. I had 9 color screen prints made for around $12.00 each, 18" x 24", and I made them in a small quantity. In larger quantities it's even cheaper. If these Di-bond mounted to aluminum prints are cheaper than $40 each, I'll be shocked. yes but the mounting, aluminium frame and acrylic is done after the printing process (and could be added with a screenprint as a means of presentation) the actual giclee behind all of that is just a piece of paper churned out of a large digital printer, your talking probably a couple of quid per unit max if that if done in bulk. No way an automated digital print costs more than a decent hand pulled screen print. An A1 digital print (giclee) on decent paper will cost you about ยฃ25 for the first print and then ยฃ2 per additional thereafter, if you were ordering thousands sure this would come right down.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by LJCal on Feb 8, 2023 0:27:44 GMT 1, Thanks for sharing rockbeer . I was on the fence but the reflections have reminded me how much I dislike dibond. I probably would have been tempted with a stronger image but these aren't screaming out to me. As a few people have mentioned I'm not sure these would work in your standard 2 up 2 down house or in hallways. definitely need the right environment to make them pop. Yeah this is the definite down side of these, I wonder if it's possible to mod this with some museum non reflective acrylic down the track. Anyone tried to mod the henis on here?

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by The Italian One on Feb 8, 2023 11:52:23 GMT 1, I tried researching but couldnโt find the answer - is there a duty tax/fee for these imported to the US upon delivery? Iโm sure many of you have been down the same rabbit hole of original vs. print, EU vs UK, etc. off course there will be customs to pay.. if you are in EU I'm quite sure you will have to pay 20% custom on top
in US you will also to pay customs not sure if is 5% or 10%

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by its all about me on Feb 8, 2023 13:26:38 GMT 1, I tried researching but couldnโt find the answer - is there a duty tax/fee for these imported to the US upon delivery? Iโm sure many of you have been down the same rabbit hole of original vs. print, EU vs UK, etc. You will always pay some sort of import tax / sales tax when you import artwork from outside the US, regardless of if it is sent by Heni or anybody else.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Acme Thunderer on Feb 8, 2023 14:50:40 GMT 1, Did they hire a 10 year old to hold these prints?
If the print is 100cm big, then that make the person no bigger than 4 foot 6 inches!
