Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Lord Lucas Roham on Feb 8, 2023 14:54:55 GMT 1, That Rubik's Cube looks terrible. It's just a glossy photo of a cube. Hard pass from me now.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by stendhal on Feb 8, 2023 15:31:04 GMT 1, Did they hire a 10 year old to hold these prints? If the print is 100cm big, then that make the person no bigger than 4 foot 6 inches! parallax error
Beside that, this edition is so disappointing. My main problem with it is that this edition calls into question the whole future of Invader's work. It seems a total turnarround from something that you had to fight for, something quiet confidential (or totally open for outside works of course), something pure to something purely mercantile. And again, I am a huge fan of 3d little big space which could be accepted as a democratisation of his work with the right quality and a fair price.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Couch Tado on Feb 8, 2023 17:52:16 GMT 1, When these were announced I was all-in and had camo and marilyn in my cart. After see the pictures on this thread and waiting during the open period I've since reversed course and am all-out. I have a nice sized wall that's like 10ft by 4ft which these would have looked nice on, but I will just save my money for an original that I've been eying.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by mcchicken on Feb 8, 2023 18:21:38 GMT 1, I popped in the gallery today. I actually thought that the Marilyn and the Country Life did look great in person.
When it comes to distance, i actually checked that since I wanted to know if i could hang them in a corridor. Answer is no.
For the Marilyn : from 1.5-2.0meter you still cant really see what the picture represents. It starts to get clearer at 2.5-3meters, so thats the minimum distance that i would consider this.
Is it worth $3000 ? (Lets call it >3000gbp, with vat) Im not sure, but thats one cool piece to hang.
Chatted with the staff at HENI, and main downside is that signature (and number) is basically on a sticker, at the back. So the artist basically signs a pile of stickers, and never come close to the actual art, which is a new concept to me...
Thoughts welcome ?

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Petrusino on Feb 8, 2023 18:29:35 GMT 1, If we were to create an award for the worst Invader release of all time I think this would definitely win the first award, and it is definitely not a question of open edition or limited edition, it's a matter of photography and propiortions; Too much light reflections, too much large and too much pricey. Sometimes less is more, in every way.

About the signature on a sticker, historically speaking it might be compared to Dali signing blank papers where lithographs were impressed a posteriori. The idea was to earn as much money as possible. There were two consequences for his work : first it did too many รฉditions because it was easy money. It depreciated his work and of course the price of the editions on the very long term. Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Inknart on Feb 8, 2023 22:49:08 GMT 1, Looks like I made a wise choice spending 1.7 Euro on this postcard instead. I've been watching videos now and looking at pics of these heni photos the last few days now. I honestly have to say, for photographs, the cube has become my favorite and works so well in the glossy photo format.
Edit: With that being said, why are all these artists getting so lazy with editions? Is an enormous profit for a mediocre piece the new standard? Reminds me of how quality Miss Buggs pieces have been at such a value.
How hard would it have been to make these at least textured prints with maybe grooves in the glass over photo?
How difficult would it have been to make a unique Rubik's cube with more tiles that created a space invader picture ?
For artists, there visions and aspirations seem to be mediocre on some of these high priced editions.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by LJCal on Feb 9, 2023 2:08:32 GMT 1, I've pulled the trigger on the set, some of the comments from the purists on here made me throw up a bit in my mouth. So many positives here, I could care less of they are giclees and bigger is better 99% of the time, but...... the glare/reflection is already driving me nuts and they're not even on the wall yet, I remember now why Ive sold every Heni print Ive ever owned (as many at a cost/a loss as profit) they just never look right. I really want to hang at least a couple of these so I'm going to take to my framers to see if there is anyway I can reduce the reflection, if I find a cost effective solution i'll let you guys know. Obviously could remove the acrylic layer and use museum acrylic but I'm guessing that could cost ยฃ1,200-1,500. Maybe adding a layer of art glass but would then need a frame and subframe and could end up being very heavy, possible 30kg+. I'm hoping there is some kind of film or treatment out there.

Did the staff at Heni give you any idea as to how sales were going ??
I popped in the gallery today. Many thanks for sharing your thoughts and the pictures. Secondly, he lost control en the editions : some editors / galerists launched poor quality lithographs which where very near to photographs of paintings. This situation is so much comparableโฆ but many things have changed since the 70โsโฆ and globally Invaderโs production to date remains very low but for how long??? Did the staff at Heni give you any idea as to how sales were going ??
