Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Deleted on Feb 9, 2023 19:28:10 GMT 1, Don't believe whats said here. They are trying to keep the edition size low. Always happens, go with your gut. I can't speak for others but I am absolutely not 'trying to keep the edition size low' LOL. As a good member and experienced collector I think it's important as a community to flag to other members when companies like HENI are taking advantage of art buyers and in this case I truly believe this is the case and these are not good buys. As another member pointed out Hirst (The HENI OG) has way more reach than Invader and going by the level of craft on these prints and comparison to pricing of other HENI releases these are overpriced and will struggle to maintain their at source pricing. They look like posters framed with acrylic, not fine art prints. Even the Peter Doig prints were a far better buy as they were nicely printed, hand signed by a well regarded fine artist and also cheaper. Don't fall for the trap y'all. But if you want to spend 3k on a laminated invader poster, go for it. It's disappointing Invader has approved these. They do not stand up against his other editions.
Poster? Explain how you arrived at that conclusion please. Lol. Iโm not being blindly supportive, but letโs be fair in our criticism here.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Inknart on Feb 9, 2023 19:49:44 GMT 1, My personal experience... From Hirst / Heni, for my collection I already bought one large rainbow, "Virtues", "Currency" and a couple of "Empress" (they're not that bad, honestly). So you can say that I'm not against this type of display. When I heard about Heni / Invader, I thought it would be an easy decision. But, like many here, for reasons already mentioned, I'm not attracted. I really wanted something with a smaller limited edition number and hand signature displayed on front, with a theme more related to his past prints. Then I realized - see my yesterday post - that the 500 ex. limited edition of his recent book had a huge 'extended' version of the cover, created by Invader to be framed as a 37cm x 47cm signed and numbered /500 print. Only available through a lottery during the Paris exhibition. It 's just been out, so it was not hard to find on 2nd market. Therefore, I just bought one, for much less than a Heni, and I'm mega happy ! I just feel alone, no one seems to take the same path. Yes, a signed serigraph is not a signed lithograph, but it's damn better than a photo-signed-on-the-back-label. Take a look (sorry, I repost the same photo..) taken during his recent Paris exhibition. Did these come folded?

Yes, and I thought it was a no-go BUT, it's absolutely not visible once framed, like in the photo I sent above. I heard that Invader carefully choose the paper to avoid permanent folding marks, also it was probably taken care by hands and not machines. It's kinda loose, not a Stik 'big issue' type of fold. From the video I saw, a couple of close-up pics, and the words from other owners, it's neat. Once framed, it's flat as planet earth.

(Virtually the only place I could potentially put one, but seems ideal? No idea for the art but you'll eventually damage the label behind from humidity, as it's not protected at all (if it's like the past Heni / Hirst stuff). Since it features the Invader signature, I don't think it would be a good idea.

To me, and I obsess about that, they are not really different from posters. Posters, postcards, the pages in a book: they're all made by using mechanical, automatised means of reproduction. Take photo and print. The Giclee might be better in quality, the colours more luscious etc. but the process is almost the same.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Buckwurst on Feb 9, 2023 21:33:47 GMT 1, I understand it's a matter of taste, but I personally think that a signed stickersheet or a folded bookcover are no substitute for a decent (signed) print or this Heni release.
If you ask me I'd say the print framed at OTI was dry mounted to get the creases out.
I would have bought it, but only from source, had I been lucky in the draw (but I don't think luck had a lot to do with it). I probably wouldn't have framed it, it would have been just another signed book.

If its framed/sealed maybe. I experimented with a WCP Nola before I subbed in a more pricy piece.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by met on Feb 10, 2023 8:17:53 GMT 1, Looks like I made a wise choice spending 1.7 Euro on this postcard instead.
Your minimalist decor makes the place look like a contemporary art gallery.
Nicely done as well with the "postcard" reference, which gave me a good chuckle. The art of understatement has always been one of life's small pleasures.
As for the Rubik's Cube, I wasn't even aware they existed on that scale. I'm guessing it must be close to 1 mยณ in size (assuming your ceiling height is around the UK national average).

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by stendhal on Feb 10, 2023 8:54:53 GMT 1, I donโt know for you but I have been collecting artworks for more than 20 years and mostly editions from major artists. The process for making them is mostly hand crafted by the best workers of their category who have in most cases a close relationship with artists. There is so much prise and beauty in the process in itself. So I hear all the comments about criticism, including mine among others, but this new way of making edition, it is hard to understand if it is the new paradigm and I am just already too old to understand (despite I am 37) or a big step back and probably a bubble. All these รฉditions are a kind of cryptomoney that you can put on your walls (which I prefer to other cryptomoney) made to absorb the excessive amount of cash in the economy

The site is not set up for some security systems so every time I tried to load money into a card and the transaction was cancelled. I was then forced to transfer the money to another card, then another, until I got help from a friend with American Express. Bad experience

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by esfer on Feb 10, 2023 12:05:59 GMT 1, I highly doubt that. Screen printing anything is cheap as chips. And these are straight color separation... you could easily have these printed, in this size, for less than $40.00 each (and I'm being very generous here). Maybe not if you do it to through some high-end overpriced print "publisher", but many screen printing shops could do it with no problem. I had 9 color screen prints made for around $12.00 each, 18" x 24", and I made them in a small quantity. In larger quantities it's even cheaper. If these Di-bond mounted to aluminum prints are cheaper than $40 each, I'll be shocked. yes but the mounting, aluminium frame and acrylic is done after the printing process (and could be added with a screenprint as a means of presentation) the actual giclee behind all of that is just a piece of paper churned out of a large digital printer, your talking probably a couple of quid per unit max if that if done in bulk. No way an automated digital print costs more than a decent hand pulled screen print. An A1 digital print (giclee) on decent paper will cost you about ยฃ25 for the first print and then ยฃ2 per additional thereafter, if you were ordering thousands sure this would come right down. I don't think a 23" x 33" is exactly comparing Apples to Apples. We're talking 40" X 40" and that extra size does make a big difference in the printing cost I'm guessing. But it sounds like you're not guessing, so I'd be curious to know which company is making A1 giclee for 25ยฃ for the initial print and 2ยฃ thereafter? I doubt I could get the paper you mentioned for 2ยฃ where I live! That means the printing of giclee is so cheap that it's practically free! I would love to make some of those.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by cemltz on Feb 10, 2023 13:57:46 GMT 1, Has anyone ever attempted to recreate/ copy one of the Rubik's works with Rubik's cubes? Should not be so difficult, rather cheap, and very close to the original, no? I have - it's fun and easy. My "Albino Invader" print has a physical replica that I made.
For larger pieces, not as cheap as you might expect. A real Rubiks cube will cost you about $8 (the cheap knockoffs have different shaped stickers and don't look nearly as nice). So for something like the original "Country Life" - which was 225 cubes - you're talking almost $2K plus your time...

Should not be so difficult, rather cheap, and very close to the original, no? This 16 y.o. girl, Daniella Chaim, turns out Rubik Cube art on par with Invader's. She takes commissions and has installations at several large American corporations. Uses same materials as Invader, arguably achieves a higher quality finished product, all at a lower price point. I also think she spins every cube herself.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by The Italian One on Feb 10, 2023 14:41:30 GMT 1, plenty of artist using Rubik cube check jvenb.com or his insta @jvenb he is doing Rubik art since 2009! honestly I have always thought this Invader Rubik Cube wasn't the best Invader's performance, and I'm quite shocked it went so successful when there are hundreds of other artist doing the same thing.
don't get mad on me I love Invader since the beginning days of his art, and I love the alias made with Rubik cube I think there is a connection between that. Beside that , all this Rubik Cube is getting boring. I mean nothing really original/new at all.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by stendhal on Feb 10, 2023 14:45:08 GMT 1, All these questions about the cost of manufacturing, the fact that your can print your own photograph of an Invader work on aluminium for a low cost as an alternative are a total nonsense :
1) The cost of production of any painting by a major artist is almost always marginal. And by the way, I think that a giclรฉe cost of production is perhaps bigger than the cost of production of a painting by Picasso. Does it give a clue on the value of the artwork?
2) But if your really want to make a financial analysis of value vs. cost, you have to take into account the per hour cost of creation by the artist who is often a millionaire. For Invader, DH, etc. this per hour cost would be huge. If you print the photo of an artwork by Invader, it will cost you almost nothing because you only take into account the manufacturing cost which basicaly means that you steal the artwork. Nobody has the right to do so, it's illegal copy and there is a reason for that
3) Last thing, what would be the pleasure in printing a photo by Invader? I am very critic to this edition for several reasons that I explained but despite all its mistakes, this edition is an artwork wether we like it or not. If you can't buy it or don't want to buy it, there is no point and no pleasure in printing one. Getting a poster of the exhibition for instance is a good alternative
