Indeed, these are not collectors buying prints from their favourite artists to hang on the wall, they are commodity traders! sad, but true 

I would say less than '300 people made it' as there was nothing to stop you adding multiples to your cart and checking out, which I am sure was the case here, especially at quite a reasonable release price, too tempting for the commodity traders! I think they should have done what a lot of artists do and limit it to one copy per customer.

I guess one way of doing it is by lottery, at least then it's completely random, everyone can also play their part by not paying 2/3 or even 4 times release price on secondary market shortly after primary release..........that might help, if people cannot make the quick flip, they won't be so eager to buy!

I can give you more information about the 500error on the website yesterday.
We have a lot of connexion in the same time, at 10 sec before the drop, there is about 900 simultanous people on the website. At the drop time, too much personn would order and the server down. We tried to upscale ressource in live, it was the first time that happening, and in 25 minutes, for people have chance to access at the website every screenprint were sold out. I think the print would be sold out in few seconds.
We have upscale the Server, and I cross my fingers, there is not the same trouble the next time.

This will prevent your server to crash, it also guarantees a fair chance for users to purchase what they want and ultimately a better experience.  The user in the waiting room is shown position in queue and a timer... so he/she can patiently wait without pressing F5.   Any other lucky users coming after them will be automatically added at the end of the queue, so no queue jumpers!
