So we're happy to introduce Paul's latest brainchild - SWAP SHOP.
Paul has created a unique version of โSuper Glowโ to give away. This small edition of special glitter prints was created alongside our upcoming โSuper Glowโ edition. Each are 36 layers of colour with custom glitter embellishment. The Swap Shop initiative means you will have a chance to obtain one of these prints for free, in exchange for swapping an item of interest with Paul.
- Submissions will only be accepted via one of our official swap shop threads, like this one, opening on Monday 28th and closing Saturday 2nd.
- Make sure to read the rules (as written down in picture by Paul) before you enter.

I trust that 'stock' photos are ok and if I get back home on time to meet the deadline (It'll be close) I'll post a photo of the one in my possession.
I'm offering my Derwent Pencils, limited edition (of 500) Borrowdale Collection artist's box, produced by the Cumberland Pencil Company (in my hometown of Keswick, Cumbria) to celebrate the New Millennium and 150 years since the discovery of graphite in Borrowdale, The Lake District. The set consists of 404 different Derwent pencils and 39 pastels plus 3 charcoal sticks, all contained within the drawers of a beautiful mahogany presentation box. Included in the lid of the box are souvenir items, including a die cast to scale, delivery van and 2 hollow pencils - as issued to fighter pilots in the Second World War. (They'd have maps hidden inside them). The box also comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The set is in new condition and none of the pencils/pastels have ever been used.
Before sets went on general sale, employees of the Pencil Factory were offered the opportunity to purchase a set. A good friend of mine who worked at the factory at the turn of the millennium purchased it on my behalf. It's a beautiful thing and to be honest, I'm probably a little bit mad to offer it up as a swap, but even so I'd like to additionally include entrance to the Pencil Museum in Keswick as a bonus, if you come to collect. It's a tonne weight so collection might actually be best. And who can resist the opportunity of seeing the world's largest pencil!
If I'm not allowed to offer something that I currently only have a stock photo for (or an experience), then the best I can offer is my daughter's inflatable Unicorn - Twinkle Toes, which is here on holiday with us. Again!
Twinkle Toes isn't an ordinary unicorn though, it's a magic unicorn. It is so light that it floats on the sea with the daughter sat in it. However, when it's not in the water it is too heavy for the daughter to carry anywhere, which means that muggins here has to carry it everywhere for her. It is further from our hotel to the sea than I'd ideally like!
I appreciate that I'm spoiling for choice but this is is an either/or offer. Not both.

After keeping them for 15 years, I only recently got rid of my mother's old wigs. With Paul being into making puppets and that, it would've been a nice way for my mother to...live on...somehow, in a new and only slightly more terrifying form.
Still, I'll always have the happy memory of seeing those binmen mincing away down my street, enjoying themselves and looking fabulous, like a gang of burly and fluorescent Cher tribute acts.

This particular blade allowed me to attend the trials for team UK after military rehab and get picked for the Invictus games which start in Germany in 13 days! 6 years of pain, suffering and mental anguish all packaged up into a carbon fibre running blade that would make an awesome puppet or if Paul ever has an accident or contracts diabetes and loses a leg then this blade will allow him to run and save him ยฃ4k in the meantime! ๐

At first she wanted to burry it in the sand as she believes there will grow lollypops out of it. But I convinced her to swap it with Paul for a more lasting memory for her bedroom and she agreed.
So this would make her happy, me happy and of course Paul as this could be comforting during stressful times.

one 39cm long box of about 50-100 "random things" i bought off ebay when i was drunk ages ago.
One 1991 5p piece that was made in the mint when THEY were drunk.
And to pile into the sparkly things theme, a low value aussie opal from Lightning Ridge, with a bit more coloured sparkles than the picture would show.

1. Motki
This is a sealed bag of 4 individual bags of 'Motki'. I don't know how old these are, but they were used to hang in closets, cupboards, ... to kill moths and larvea. These were made in Germany. Since I can't seem to find any information on these, I consider them as 'strange' & 'rare'!
2. Petaid
This product is a 'Turtle Stimulant'. Pretty strange if you ask me. This is an amplifier for land turtles and water tortoises. My dad used to work in a zoo and we had turtles when I was young, so he used to give this to them daily. After they died, we never threw away the product so ... ta-dah!
3. Jar of Fish
I have nothing to say about this ... My dad used to collect all kind of objects, so he collected a jar of fish. No clue how long it has been sitting there. Taxidermy is trendy, right?
4. Sugar cone
This is a sugar cone specifically from a Belgian sugar producing company located in Tienen ('Raffinerie Tirlemontoise' aka 'Tiense Suikerraffinaderij'). This is a lump of about 5 pounds of sugar, crystallized in the shape of a cone with a rounded nose. The stamp of the front says 'Double Raffine Extra - Taffinerie Tirlemontoise'. This is actually the precursor to a sugar cube. This one dates back from 1902, because in 1902, sugared cubes were invented in Tienen and these disappeared from our cupboards
I hope you liked my 'strange' objects, because I truely do. They are all a nice memory to my dad, who unfortunately passed away 3 months ago.

This one-of-a-kind trophy has been hand finished with a hot glued plastic "Winner" medallion at the top, as well as REAL dried beans!!!
DISCLAIMER: Please note that some of the beans have fallen off since my much-fabled victory. I would be happy to replace them, though doing so will affect the piece's patina and future value (currently insured for US $0.28).
I submit for Paul's consideration a dusty "Judge's Choice Best Chili" plastic trophy with marble base (circa 2011) that was won by yours truly. This one-of-a-kind trophy has been hand finished with a hot glued plastic "Winner" medallion at the top, as well as REAL dried beans!!! DISCLAIMER: Please note that some of the beans have fallen off since my much-fabled victory. I would be happy to replace them, though doing so will affect the piece's patina and future value (currently insured for US $0.28). |
