Faile/FairQ Update, by brody on Jul 3, 2008 19:34:40 GMT 1, Anyone been invoiced yet? Matt at Faile said they would be sent this afternoon (NY Time)...so only a couple of hours left.
How much time will we have once we receive the invoice... Still deciding.. I mean the 4th of July is upon us and some people will be out of town.

Faile/FairQ Update, by jamesreeve5 on Jul 3, 2008 20:17:03 GMT 1, Did anyone win multiples for the last Faile lottery? I tried to look back via a search, but couldn't find anything.
I did, but I jumped the gun and told them which one I wanted via email

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Jul 3, 2008 20:45:28 GMT 1, Yeah no I know, I can afford to pay off my card in about 2 months, in two installments, if I go for the $5,000 one... and it's not going to max out my card, so I might go for it. And I do really love it. (and if not, then Daddy is there! Hahaa) this really is like talk therapy for you, isn't it?
Hahahaha.... yes you got me.... But I don't need therapy anymore as I'm feeling AMAZING about this print. It makes all the pain fade away

Faile/FairQ Update, by Guest on Jul 4, 2008 1:18:14 GMT 1, Hey guys, That's correct, each event is completely independent of the other. The system uses a random number generator to pick winners. It really is a name in the hat type system in that when you join a Q, you are assigned a number. When the Q ends, the system will randomly pick a set of numbers (depends how many winners the Q owner ie Faile wants to pick) and notify the winners and losers with the customized messages. This process is handled completely independent of other Qs. The fact that people won several Qs is quite possible as you also have to consider that there may not be as many people in some of the Qs so the chances of winning increases. There is NO system or pattern in how winners are chosen. Oh, the reason why the times were getting extended is because the system picks winner in a batch process meaning that it will pick winners when resources are available. I think a lot of people were hammering the site, the system doesn't have enough resource to pick the winners. But, the important part is that people are no longer able to join the Q after the end time. We'll publish stats in a bit.
are the remaining prints only offered to people who did not win Q's?

good question...I was wondering the same thing.

Faile/FairQ Update, by Matt-lock on Jul 4, 2008 3:46:05 GMT 1, What does everyone think of this as a new body of work for Faile, they say its a sneak peek of a new series. In Trembling Whispers Brown Personally I think it's awesome.
Not sure if I'm biased because I won this particular one but I'm loving it. And even though it's the same image as the buy it now print I much prefer this one from an aesthetic point of you.

Faile/FairQ Update, by Guest on Jul 4, 2008 9:00:22 GMT 1, Im guessing that anyone who has won multiple Q's, now has to choose what they want, thus removing them from entering the next round of Q's. does this mean that they could still miss the print they really wanted as a result of this? as they could of been chosen on the next round as well?

Faile/FairQ Update, by angryboy on Jul 4, 2008 9:05:49 GMT 1, I imagine once you've chosen one that's you out, yep. You could always say no to everything you won and get yourself back in the race for the unwanted ones. As the only prints I'd take over what I won are the Perfect Bunny Girl and Key Foods though I won't bother. I can't imagine anyone is mad enough to give those up or lukcy enough to have won both and so have to give one up.
Still waiting on an invoice though, so far the only email I've had is Matt telling me that out of what I won I should take the Stories of Love - Romance in Brown as it looks really good, even if it's not as worked as Key Foods.

I doubt that. You had your chance/luck and that's it. No second chances for winners here. I don't see any reason why the winners should be allowed to be back in the ballot after their refusal (after all everyone had 2 days to choose the pieces they really-really wanted )

Faile/FairQ Update, by angryboy on Jul 4, 2008 9:27:47 GMT 1, It's all conjecture really. I'm starting to think that if you were in a queue for a piece then you'd go back into the ballot for returned ones even if you'd already won. Can't imagine they'll go through removing names will they?
So saying they won't redraw until after the 5 day decision making period is over and so by that point multiple winners will have had to make their decision and so will be out the game through a purchase anyway.
Not that i think folk should be able to have a second chance if they've already won, just rambling really.

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Jul 4, 2008 10:31:00 GMT 1, Morning everyone... so I've had no invoice yet. Which is cool but I really want to get it! You're never going to guess what, in the last 24 hours my broadband has bust at my flat, my mobile which was my only second option for looking at the net has broken (the screen has blacked out) and my tumble dryer has broken so all my clothes are stinky and wet. I am sooooo gutted! Now in an internet cafe in the hope that Faile will send the invoice so I can pay it! Such a nightmare all of this!!!! But I should really step back and relax, at least I got the option to buy one, I'm very lucky. Hoping nothing else is going to happen that breaks down today. Arrggghh!!
