NEW FAILE!, by olapig on Jun 18, 2009 21:34:30 GMT 1, you are right motor but it was these places that made there price go up so it should work both ways also
I tend to agree with that. Am i the only one who reads this stuff in amazement that people can talk about prints for £1400 or so as if it is a drop in the ocean.
Posted by Silky on Today at 1:42pm What is the correct price to sell them at?
1. At a low price so people can buy them, and resell them for a good profit straight away.
2. At a price in line with values at auction and ebay.
[glow=red,2,300]3. Over priced, so people know they could not sell them for a profit (at least for the moment) meaning only true lovers of the work will buy [/glow]
Perhaps everybody's got shit loads of money on this forum, being a true Faile lover i only wish i could afford it!!

NEW FAILE!, by shosho on Jun 21, 2009 23:43:33 GMT 1, faile without aiko are still very good at what they do but it's obvious the elements she brought to the table were very important to early faile work, there just seems to be something missing in the recent failes for me, likewise with aiko's solo stuff some of it is excellent but it's almost like she needs the faile boys to reign her in as her work can be quite cutesy sometimes and they need her to bring the adventure, glamour and sexiness back to faile, they balanced each other out aiko solo - good but too cute and sweet faile without aiko - good but lacks the soul, glamour and sex faile together again - a perfect balance of aggression with sexiness ps - nostalgia has nothing to do with this as im fully aware artists need to progress but faile need her and she needs faile simple tings blud

NEW FAILE!, by shosho on Jun 22, 2009 8:51:07 GMT 1, patrick mcneil and patrick miller are the other two, aiko left in late 2006 but they may of still had some of the ideas she contributed and used them or her themes after she left, so if 2006 -2007 were the halycon days then aiko's influence was definently still burning bright, remember they used a lot of reccuring themes ie bunny boy, bunny girl, sexy vixens in distress during 2007 and have only switched up with their new ideas now really. you only have to look at aiko's solo stuff to see what her input was for example her constant bunny theme and sexy vixen shit

I hope you're joking fielder. If they don't sell-out instantly that isn't a failure / embarrasising whatsoever.
Can assure you Faile would rather them sell over the course of time to collectors who actually want them for their walls.
My best guess is this will the price point for a long time.

Was thinking the same Ronhill.
Linkd. Privately you might get smaller piece on canvas for £20K + (not that the medium really matters but since you've started it) however that's far, far away from those pieces on paper Faile offers through the web.

NEW FAILE!, by snausages on Jun 28, 2009 20:42:58 GMT 1, Thanks silky, pretty solid results.
As for the Faile vs. Aiko talk, I don't want to dismiss Aiko's contributions but Faile is miles ahead of what Aiko is doing imo. The Patricks are and always were the driving force. I think the NYC show 2007 was the pinnacle, which had some elements left over from Aiko but that was really the Patricks you were looking at, it was hardly some fraud. The London show was really strong as well and the prayer wheels were phenomenal. I think it's great they're expanding on the themes, some of which I don't like as much as the earlier ones but so it goes. I am glad however they're not stuck on using bunnies and cutesy japanese elements. Still, the typography, the execution is killer, (although I think their color palette sometimes is just too much) but these guys are very skilled. I feel silly even having to defend em.
