For me Neate's latest show along with Banksy's museum show have been miles ahead of the rest of the 'competition'. I also feel they are the 2 artists of the current 'British art scene' or whatever you want to call it that will go on to great things whilst a lot of the other artists mentioned on this board regularly will fade into mediocrity.
I find it refreshing that an artist feels the need to constantly push themselves and their creativity forward. The development between this and his debut solo show just 2 years ago is quite amazing.
If this is the quality of the work he produces in the early stages of his career...I can't wait to see what he produces when he perfects his new 4d sculptures and achieves his goal of creating 'something beautiful' instead of just gaining a understanding of his new technique.
Quite possibly the show of the year for me...was struck in awe at some the pieces..just wish I had a spare ยฃ50k or so to buy one...
The show is on for a number of weeks...so def encourage people to check it out in person, pictures do not do the work any justice.
My faves were the grey and red portraits upstairs. But me and my girlfriend had to do with a couple of show posters and a signed book!

One thing that has been puzzling me is that everyone is mentioning 4D work. Can someone explain what a 4D piece is? Are you referring to 4 dimensions? If so what's the 4th?

Here are some images. quality isnt that good, but its the best i could find. these are finished portraits bacon did. his studies (which i couldnt find quickly) are less detailed, and look even closer. BTW, bacon is one of my favorite artists...

Maybe that's due in part to being influenced to some degree by another?
I went to the show this afternoon and really good to get the opportunity to visit in a serene environment where the mgnt have a little time to chat - I was a little miffed that I didn't get full attention as there was some bloke called Jose who they seemed to have some sort of connection with....ho hum.
Brilliant show, pieces executed in such an imaginative way it's difficult to envisage how they developed from ideas too reality.
My fav? not sure.....

The 3D perspex stuff is truly amazing, for me the more abstract it became the better it was
The images just dont capture the depth of these pieces.. the stand out piece for me was the red head that is in the poster.. AMAZING in the flesh
Free postcards and badges for those of you that like that kind of thing... cant wait to pick up my signed book that a very kind forum member got for me.. thanks.. you know who you are
Still after a red signed poster if anyone is feeling generous or if someone has got one and now thinks that its gonna sit under the bed?
