Adam Neate - A New Understanding - 9th Oct, by rrrich on Oct 10, 2009 16:31:53 GMT 1, just got back from this morning's signing. absolutely amazed at the quality in his work and the leap from the pieces on display from elms' christmas show last year. the sculptured portraits are just incredible and the canvases were incredibly vibrant. it was interesting listening to adam say how difficult it is to make those pieces look so 'easy' and flowing, saying how many times he had to re-do them. similarly the larger 3D pieces downstairs took around a month each to complete.
for people interested, there's lots of prints left although by 12 today adam wasnt signing them anymore - a combination of time constraints and ebay I think. elms have also held back some signed books for people who couldnt make it today, so if you do want one, give the gallery a call. i think they're ยฃ45 like the normal edition.

People have in the past been quick to point out who some of his influences may have been, as if it's some sort of criticism. I doubt there are many artists or designers who aren't influenced to some degree by the likes of Bacon or Dali. None of that's the point! All that truly matters is the incredible quality of his work and the vision he uses it to share. I hope he can keep challenging himself to develop in this way for many years to come. Something tells me I won't be disappointed!
I'm so bloody jealous of all you guys getting to see this collection 1st hand. I hope you all enjoy the show and thanks so much for all the photos. Rest assured there are many of us who really greatly appreciate your efforts in taking and sharing these images. Thanks so very much!

do you hear a whole new collection of work to find out it's bull shit. However this is great the new colour bits are brilliant a mile from his norm in my op. Think there better than the older style bits. Do I guess that the post above means posters not prints. Would love to see this show fingers crossed great work.

Nice to meet Adam today especially as I had missed the signing and there were only 3 or 4 people in the gallery. I stopped taking photos and just enjoyed looking. Will definitely be returning. The book has it all so grab one. Don't worry about getting signed stuff that's all bulls**t anyway....just enjoy.

styled in 3d only seen few art pieces that thought actually worked but looking at the pics really makes me want to go down and just sit back and enjoy... obviously always be never be able to own original atleast for a while but doesnt stop me appreciating the effort put into each art piece...
dont know adam to speak to but honestly would be amazing to go around and listen explanation for each art piece ... to produce art that is widely accepted by the hardest critics on this forum lol is achievement in itself... shame and im guilty of it already thinking what is next and is it possible to top this show... hopefully when i am there can stand back and be amazed material what each and everyone of us comes across each day can be turned into something beautiful as his art pieces he produced for this show....
clearly artists that does what he does for the love of art and for that wish him all the best in the future...s
