Holy Grail?...Elms/Neate, by ABC on Aug 3, 2007 8:24:27 GMT 1, After having a look around the Neate show last night all I can say is that in 15 years of being into art that was the best exhibition I've ever seen.
Mr Neat has blown Banksy and Micallef out of the water IMO and the proof was on the walls. A very bold statment I know but his latest work was just jaw dropping, I can't wait to see the art critics reviews on that one.
As stated before all of the originals were sold out before we got in, apart from the largest one at 80k. there were nine prints available = 3 x 50 ed prints, 3 x 75 and 3 x 100 editions, prices ยฃ900 - ยฃ1500.
The absolute nuts, get there and see what its all about is my advice.

I found his images very talkative, emotional apart from being very well crafted, something that I missed when looking at some other artists compared to him (not to say that Banksys or Micallefs images do not of course but not in the same way).
It was a breath of fresh air not to see any of the trend items like gun, skulls therefor less commercial in a way... no offense to anybody there, just what I felt.
When it comes down to blow other Micallef or Banksy out, I will tend to disagree as they are all doing a very different work, then again each to their own thoughts.
I am sure we will get to see what is around the corner in September in LA as there should be some surprises there.
One show to do not miss that is for sure, I am gald I got a set of prints despite the airport queuing system...

Good though really as there is a wide variety that appeals to a wider audience.
Personally I think the first 3 prints he has released are still the best.
And like his last show, I think there are better choices to be used as prints.
But hey ho thats life!
