Time to meet some of these flippen' flippers in person after winning auctions and agreeing to meet in person for an attitude adjustment and teach them its not nice to take an opportunity from a true Neate fan just to make a quick profit. It really pisses me off that Elms sent out personal invites and people who go to the preview have the nerve to sell prints on... total bulls**t.

If that happens then yes, it will be annoying. It would prove really that doing invites to previous customers is no better system than opening it to joe public straight off.
I suppose I'm presuming that Elms wanted the works to go to genuine Neate fans but perhaps I am wrong. I can understand them rewarding previous customers. That's fair. Perhaps I'm naive in thinking that they'd also care about Neate's fans. Maybe just opening to public where Neate fans could put time queing against how much they want a print would be an idea. But maybe not; I can see how this would be problematic for some of his real fans that can't wait around all day.
It's just the nature of the increasing popularity of such a great artist. We all know the way it is. Hopefully I and others will be wrong and we won't see much of Adam's work on eBay. That would good news. To not get a print for other Neate fans who were there earlier than you is total fair play. But if it just went to someone who wants to flip it, that'd be frustrating but not wholly surprising.

Holy Grail?...Elms/Neate, by jam on Aug 2, 2007 22:59:30 GMT 1, I know... and perhaps we will not see any on ebay, but I doubt it. Its really frustrating because I had a invite but I am in the US and my passport expired last month. I didn't realize until working on flights over and our stupid immigration backup means no quick renews on passports... ergo no going to the preview, and no prints for me. I am sick about it. The thing is, the invites did go to past customers of Elms and I appreciate that... but there were so many Neats sold onto the secondary market that had been offered to the same past customers (great example is NOTV) it seems silly to direct all the prints to be sold only to the preview people as if that would stop the flipping. They also completely ruled out a ecommerce sale or even their silly phone-a-thon for those who didn't have a invite or those who couldn't travel (which fell on deaf ears). Bah... I'm just feeling bitter tonight, really wanted to get a print or two.

No-one who went has said for sure, though I get the impression that there's only a few prints left if any at all.
Am I right in suspecting there aren't going to be any pictures tonight?

Holy Grail?...Elms/Neate, by ricosg11 on Aug 2, 2007 23:18:06 GMT 1, I fed ex'd my invite to someone, in exchange for the me gettin a few prints at cost. With the invites selling for $400 privately jammer you gotta use all your resources. Loads of folks wanted mine, you would have had no problem getting something. Just have to be willing to buy blind and put some trust in someone. Worst case scenario you lose an invite that was free to some scumbag. And no I would have never sold mine for money. The person I gave mine to was thrilled at having the opportunity to go. As I see it we both win, well except for me not being able to see the originals in person.

Holy Grail?...Elms/Neate, by jam on Aug 2, 2007 23:22:06 GMT 1, Yeah... I thought about it and had someone lined up but they fell through. I was also holding out hope I could get my papers sorted and even had my lawyer try and expedite it. In the end, I asked a few people that I knew were going if they would help me out and perhaps that will work out. I just really wanted to see the show.

Holy Grail?...Elms/Neate, by senna on Aug 2, 2007 23:31:44 GMT 1, Oh my God! personally i can't even begin to describe what I saw this evening.
I was completely blown away by the WHOLE show (pottery by anyone is not my thing).
great to be able to see the prints & the originals they came from hung in the same place.
things being the way they are, it was impossible to chose properly, which print you wanted,of the 3 you were permitted to purchase...but they are ALL the dogs bongaloidez!!!
red T-shirts & badges were given out to all & Adam was signing them for whoever shoved one in front of him
was kinda impossible to take good pics as the que ran along the wall they (the prints) were hung on
going back tomorrow to collect & take some pictures without the que had a little chat with the man himself (the calmest/most mellow man you have ever met) & tonight was the 1st time HE had seen the show hung...& it blew him away!
something i thought was interesting...he works on each piece totally separately IE starts & finishes a piece totally before starting on another (know what i mean?).
very much doubt there will be anything left, but you won't know for sure unless you ask yourself
totally recommend going even if you can't buy anything.

Holy Grail?...Elms/Neate, by lside on Aug 2, 2007 23:48:35 GMT 1, I was very close to the end of the queue but the hours and hours of waiting were worth it in the end! ;D
There were 5 different prints left (2am Blog, Cold War, Deep End, Queens Special and Come On -- sorry don't have any pics)
The editions of 100 were all up to mid to late 80s so if anyone is interested I'd be on the phone or in the gallery early tomorrow!
Prints aside the show is incredible! Originals are quite amazing IMO.

Thanks.
