I think that would just piss off a bunch of fans and ultimately turn them off to doing business with him. There is a price cap on everything and if he prices them there he is well over that cap. IMO.... I think that would be very risky being he will be in LA and not in London. People don't know Micallef in the US like they do in the UK. He would risk not selling out and then that would be bad press.

First off I'm on the preview list, and my e-mail had the FIRST price of $1000 where Holly said "Don't quote me on that", then I heard people getting them where she said $2000, and I'm guessing "Don't quote me on that". Are you for certain saying that the latest e-mails said $4000, and that we could quote her on that?
As far as I was aware the prices that have been released have all been from Holly and nothing OFFICIAL, but I could be wrong as I haven't received any e-mails since that initial $1000 e-mail.

I would call it speculation because, as Holly says "NONE OF THESE PRICES ARE DETERMINED" Certainly doesn't sound like a cold hard fact.

Far less than to my knowledge but Litho's not my area, i may be corrected!

Don't get me wrong I quite like some of his stuff but, frankly, this is all a bit ridiculous.
9 pages of thread which is nothing more than speculation, people worrying about whether or not they are going to get a print which they haven't even seen the image of. Talking of spending the cost of a small secondhand family car for a lithograph.
My advice to anyone thinking of going to LA is this:
1) Don't use a credit card or other loan to book your flights or buy your prints. If you don't have the money then don't go.
2) if you have the money. Take it out of your savings or whatever. Take it out in cash. Look at all that money. Count it. Then ask yourself WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE SHOW AND HAVE SEEN THE PRINT - is this print worth all this money?
3) If you can answer yes to that question then buy it, frame it, put it on your wall and enjoy it. You will have deserved it.

If you're talking about a fairly large edition of a complex multi-colour image, Lithos are going to be considerably cheaper to produce than Screenprints. Most of this difference will be down to labour costs.
