I loved it, but I like all that kind of stuff.

I cannot recommend Ray Donovan highly enough-if you haven't watched it already!

Currently watching Lupin....very good so far!

A newie to brighten up yet another day of lockdown

We watched this Friday evening having seen a decent review, really enjoyed it, dark but also funny too, in a vague way similar to three billboards in that respect, dark as heck but also funny too

In Bruges is somewhat of a hidden gem.

An often-overlooked aspect is the makeup artistry (or wizardry) showcased in this film.

Don Logan is almost unrecognisable in his excellent supporting role as Harry Waters.

In Bruges is definitely up there in my list if favourite films.
Three superb performances from the main protagonists.

I’m also very fond of the film Truly Madly Deeply with Juliette Stevenson and Alan Rickman. A tear jerker - have tissues at the ready!





And Cinema Paradiso is another classic too.

A somewhat disturbing documentary I had to watch in my Advanced Documentary Film class, years ago in college. The film was banned from public release, available only for educational purposes for health professionals and film students until the 90’s.

“Superior Court judge Andrew Meyer allowed the film to be released to the general public, saying that as time had passed, privacy concerns had become less important than First Amendment concerns. He also said that many of the former patients had died, so there was little risk of a violation of their dignity.” 

Titicut Follies is a 1967 American direct cinema documentary film directed by Frederick Wiseman and filmed by John Marshall. It deals with the patient-inmates of Bridgewater State Hospital for the criminally insane, a Massachusetts Correctional Institution in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The film won awards in Germany and Italy.

Actually a documentary, but definitely worth to check it out:

Stumbled upon Apocalypse Now this evening which is a fantastic movie - whichever version/cut you choose. Equally good is the ‘making of’ move Hearts of Darkness which shows what an extraordinary production it was.

Watched a top film last night

Mr Jones .... It has James Naughton as the central figure. Amazing. Not an easy watch - all about 1930's issues in Russia.
