I thought the same thing but from other posts people have made this thread hasnt really surprised me too much.
anyway, Forward russia on sunday in bristol. saw Maximo last wednesday at the astoria and got tickets for them in may too.
I'd love a music forum on here, and looks as though we've got excellent taste, for the most part ;D

but for me the downtempo days are over now its just felix da housecat/vitalic/kid606/chicks on speed/miss kittin/ellen allien and all that jazz

I've just checked out felix da housecat, Vitalic, miss kittin, ellen allien (all a little too retro electro for me) chicks on speed (quite punky and my punk days have passed, as I'm old enough to have been there the first time around) but I think for me there may be some legs in Kid 606.

maybe I shouldn't travel as much around, last month i made it down south to london to see the felix da housecat, kid 606 and mogwai in action, in fabric btw, where banksy has an original bombhugger right on the wall. drunk, as i was i only noticed it 3 hrs after id been there alas if i travelled less, maybe i could afford more prints

I saw them a few weeks ago at kings college union & the new stuff is great.
They seem to be getting better as i first saw them early 2005.
Bit of a indie kid myself,(that's if you can be a kid at 33) 
Started going to gigs at 15 & have seen some greats from nirvana to the maccabees the other night.

they were indeed sub-sub until their studio burnt down and all their music was lost. they've re-invented themselves as a kind of epic guitar band, hard to define them really. very versatile and one of the best live bands i've seen. for a band that have had 2 number one albums they don't get anywhere near enough credit.
they've left their funky house days behind them i'm afraid.
