First single/record you ever bought!?, by stender on Jan 9, 2009 21:20:07 GMT 1, I was a bit of a slade fan when i was a kid and shamed to say a bit of gary glitter. Also liked Abba and still do (no im married).
The first record i remember buying was either Iko Iko by Natasha or I love rock n roll by joan jett or blancmange living on the ceiling. Also bought stars on 45 on cassette. not sure which was the earliest. Still love the blancmange track.
I do remember being at a school end of term disco where you could take records in. I remember the theme tune to minder ending and my brothers record starting to play. Never seen a teacher move so fast...........It was on the good ship venus........

First single/record you ever bought!?, by Pistol on Jan 9, 2009 22:47:03 GMT 1, First record I vividly remember buying was Pretty Vacant. I cut the picture sleeve in 2 and stuck it on my bedrom wall. My Dad was not happy 'I'm not having those yobs music in my house and I'm not having you line their pockets.' Many years on I have met 3 of the band, as well as Malcolm MacLaren, Jamie Reid, Julien Temple, Ten Pole Tudor,..................the list goes on, run my own Sex Pistols website for about 8 years, have my name acknowledged in 'No one is innocent' by Alan Parker and been interviewed on BBC Radio. Boy he would have been proud(but would never have admitted it)!!!! Best band ever, without a doubt!

The cool thing about that was it was Mark Pritchard from the legendary Global Communications who was behind that release. The cartoon was pretty awesome back in the day too.
