We the undersigned are all of Jewish origin. When we see the dead and bloodied bodies of young children, the cutting off of water, electricity and food, we are reminded of the siege of the Warsaw Ghetto. When Dov Weisglass, an adviser to the Israeli prime minister, Ehud Olmert, talked of putting Gazans "on a diet" and the deputy defence minister, Matan Vilnai, talked about the Palestinians experiencing "a bigger shoah" (holocaust), this reminds us of Governor General Hans Frank in Nazi-occupied Poland, who spoke of "death by hunger".
The real reason for the attack on Gaza is that Israel is only willing to deal with Palestinian quislings. The main crime of Hamas is not terrorism but its refusal to accept becoming a pawn in the hands of the Israeli occupation regime in Palestine.
The decision last month by the EU council to upgrade relations with Israel, without any specific conditions on human rights, has encouraged further Israeli aggression. The time for appeasing Israel is long past. As a first step, Britain must withdraw the British ambassador to Israel and, as with apartheid South Africa, embark on a programme of boycott, divestment and sanctions.

I think itยดs horrible whatยดs going on, and especially with all the innocent being killed. But Israel have never been accepted as a state and will probably never be accepted as one, by the surrounding Arabic states. Thereยดs nothing new in whatยดs going on in Gaza, so even though the video is 2 years old I think it could might as well have been said today.

the bbc & channel 4 being the worst arent helping.
this country has a real problem.
jews worldwide are really suffering because of this.
a synagogue i visited was fire bombombed last week.
this is a time where to be honest being jewish is rather scarey.
i posted a coment on a thread about the gaza war which has since been pulled by silky.
i must have been the 5th or so person to post.
above me was pro hamas and every single post below (30 or so posts) was pro hamas.
not 1 pro israel.
i dont care what anyone says on this forum to be honest....i couldnt give a toss.
i dont agree with innocent civilian deaths inflicted by the israeli military but they should have thought about the wealfare of their own people before they started sending suicide bombers and rockets over in to isreal brutaly mudering hundreds if not thousands.
did they expect israel to just sit back and let it keep happening?

Israel is using cluster bombs that are illegal and prohibited by the UN.
since Israel's offensive on Gaza began on 27 December, nearly 1,000 Gazans have been killed, 4,400 have been injured, and an estimated 90,000 have fled their homes, according to Palestinian figures.
More than 40% of those killed in Gaza were women or children, said the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, even though Israel had signed a UN protocol condemning attacks on places where children were likely to be present.

Dozens of innocent Palestinians were killed but not a word of protest from anyone. Outrage for many is clearly "selective" since its well known that Hamas has done a great deal of it's own killing of the Palestinian people ie off rooftops, at wedding parties, and I suppose soon at their very own crucifixions which I read is a new law they passed in Gaza for "apostates" which I assume means the few remaining Christians or those Muslims Hamas decide aren't Muslim to their liking. And we all know from seeing with our own eyes in Iraq, that Muslims killing Muslims or Muslims blowing up mosques hardly raises a yawn .... but just throw a Jew in the mix and all hell breaks loose. Is it anti Semitism? Well, since no one is allowed to call anyone an Anti Semite - even when they are telling you to "go back to the ovens" as the Gaza demonstrators were recently video taped shouting at passing cars in Ft Lauderdale Florida last week, I say if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck ... its usually a duck.

Outrage for many is clearly "selective" since its well known that Hamas has done a great deal of it's own killing of the Palestinian people ie off rooftops, at wedding parties, and I suppose soon at their very own crucifixions which I read is a new law they passed in Gaza for "apostates" which I assume means the few remaining Christians or those Muslims Hamas decide aren't Muslim to their liking. And we all know from seeing with our own eyes in Iraq, that Muslims killing Muslims or Muslims blowing up mosques hardly raises a yawn .... but just throw a Jew in the mix and all hell breaks loose. Is it anti Semitism? Well, since no one is allowed to call anyone an Anti Semite - even when they are telling you to "go back to the ovens" as the Gaza demonstrators were recently video taped shouting at passing cars in Ft Lauderdale Florida last week, I say if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck ... its usually a duck. mate....thank you for speaking up. our voices are needed in these times. good post |

Equally the Israelis should have perhaps considered the effect that occupying palestinian lands would have upon their own civilians. Occupation breeds resistance. The initial crime (the occupation) has been committed by Israel. It can therefore be said fairly that Israel must bear responsibility for its future consequences.

Remember when Israel shelled the UN school a few days ago killing 40? Israel initially said they were fired at by a Hamas mortar team at the school and 2 days later produced video from an aircraft showing the school and mortar position. Unfotunately it has since been proven that this video is over 2 years old - and the Israelis had to admit it was not true. They then claimed they were shot at by Hamas fighters in the school, but again this was proved to be false and they had to retract the statement.
The fact is the Israeli Military ALWAYS lie about these things - it is their natural response. They still deny using white phosphorous shells in gaza despite endless photos and video footage showing airbursts of shells that are absolutely, undeniably white phosphorous. Even when confronted with a series of photos showing US supplied WP shells next to an artillery position and with a soldier picking them up, loading them and firing them, they STILL deny it.
Same thing happened in Lebanon in 2006, Israel lied about using WP for ages and then a few months after the war, when they felt everyone would have moved on and forgotten about it, they quietly admitted that yes, they had actually been using WP after all.
