I WILL DO SOMETHING TO STOP THE SLAUGHTER IN GAZA!, by jB on Jan 15, 2009 6:03:51 GMT 1, i hate saying this, as I am one, but this interview is absolutely nutty. Americans (whether Israeli or not) do not seem to be able to articulate even what is going on - it's a real shame too.

I WILL DO SOMETHING TO STOP THE SLAUGHTER IN GAZA!, by origo on Jan 15, 2009 12:11:24 GMT 1, First of, you donยดt know me, so donยดt tell me who I am.
Second, I donยดt like murder, hate and ignorance no matter which side itยดs coming from. I was trying to show that the ignorance goes both ways.
I do think Hamas is no good for either the Palestinians or Israel, they murder their own people and use the Palestinian people.

I WILL DO SOMETHING TO STOP THE SLAUGHTER IN GAZA!, by BunnyBoiler on Jan 15, 2009 13:00:56 GMT 1, At the end of the day, its the Israeli Army that are the ones killing the Palestinian children in quantity at the moment.
Its very hard to see the slaughter that's going on... imagine how much more truth we would be seeing if the journalist are allowed in to Gaza. Hiding the truth doesn't make it better.
I hate war and hope for peace. What is going on is very unfair and depressing... No more watching the news for me. Well.. for a few days at least...
Especially when its like this 15.1.09 โ 10am GMT
Medical Aid for Palestinians have just had confirmation from our hospital emergency aid coordinators that both Al Wafa Hospital, in the eastern part of Gaza City, and Al Fata (also known as Al Wiaโm) Hospital, in Tal El Hawa, west of Gaza City, have both been bombed by the Israeli military.
Al Wafa hospital is the only rehabilitation hospital in all of Gaza.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) reports that Al Quds Hospital has suffered a direct hit. Both Al Quds hospital and the European Hospital have been surrounded by Israeli troops and are reportedly being hit with white phosphorus.
The UN has warned that security for medical personnel and access to medical facilities continues to be of major concern. Attacks on medical personnel and ambulances have hampered the ability to assist the injured. According to the Ministry of Health (MoH), since 27 December 2008, 13 medical personnel have been killed and 22 medical personnel have been injured while on duty; 15 ambulances have been damaged and seven ambulances have been destroyed; and twelve health facilities have been damaged through direct or indirect shelling.

You are right to point out that Hamas are not angels either.
However, it should not be forgotten that Israel played a large part in the creation of Hamas as an opposition force to Arafat's secular PLO - in a similar way that the US played a large part in the creation of Al Qeada to fight the Russians in Afghanistan.
www.globalresearch.ca/articles/ZER403A.html
If you create a monster to do your dirty work for you, you should not be surprised when it turns around and bites you - you reap what you sow.
Also, when you say that Hamas uses the Palestian people I think you miss the fundamental point - Hamas are the DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT of the Palestinian people - they won by democratic vote in an election that independent monitors confirmed was to all intents and purposes, free and fair. If the Palestinians thought they were so bad for them - they wouldn't vote for them. The fact is Hamas ARE the palestinian people in Gaza - most Gaza families have a family member or close relation who is a member of Hamas.
Read "The facts about Hamas and the War on Gaza" by Norman Finkelstein, the author of 5 books on the conflict and the son of a holocaust survivor.
www.counterpunch.com/finkelstein01132009.html
The ROOT of the problem is the illegal Israeli occupation. Occupation breeds resistance. The longer the occupation goes on, the more radical the resistance becomes. Israel had years and years to make peace with the secular PLO. It refused to do so. Now it faces radical Islamists. I wonder what will come next? End the illegal occupation and the violence will come to an end. Withdraw to June 1967 borders as endless UN resolutions have decreed. By not doing that, Israel is asking for the rockets - they are an inevitable consequence of Israel's actions. And the longer this goes on the bigger those rockets will get and the further they will travel.
End the occupation. Stop the genocide.

I WILL DO SOMETHING TO STOP THE SLAUGHTER IN GAZA!, by origo on Jan 15, 2009 13:58:05 GMT 1, Thereยดs a lot of feelings into this and I understand why people get upset. I support peace, I think both Hamas and Israel should take a step back and see what they are doing to innocent people.
But to place the blame on Israel simply because they are there is not a valid reason for hating them, then the blame should go a long way back, back to the oneยดs who created the state of Israel.
Everybody knows that Israel have never been and never will be accepted by the surrounding muslim states or by the Palestinians, that is also another big part of the problem. Israel is under constant threat from their surroundings and I think that creates a lot of agressive methods from Israel. I think you have to live there to really understand how it feels like with a constant threat hanging over your head, it makes people aggresive, it breeds hate and violence.
I think the best solution would be giving the Palestinians a country of their own, a place where they can live in freedom and not being in constant fear.

I do MCR which is the main room where all Video comes to us from around the world. Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, for the last 8 years i have never and i mean never taken in so many feeds with injured or killed kids. Images so bad that most is not aired. The iraq/Afghanistan war does not even come close. Even worse that the tsunami footage we got when that hit. At the end of the day who ever is right or wrong i dont really care, kids are dying as we speak and type. Losing mums, brothers and fathers. Surley this should be enough on its own for a ceasefire....

Thanks for the info. Shame its not aired.
