Antony Micallef - Lazinc line, by Imoy-San on Sept 19, 2007 15:25:53 GMT 1, I just had a look at the queue, and the damn thing is as long as someone mentioned in a 6.15am post, only I saw it at 2.30pm!
I love my Micallef prints, but I wouldn't be able to justify spending that much time in a queue - I'd be out of a job or out of a home!
Good luck to all who got one and my thoughts with people still in the queue - which seemed to moving rather slowly.

Antony Micallef - Lazinc line, by Montubu7 on Sept 19, 2007 15:27:41 GMT 1, Well worded post from Stuey with some valid points. I think people need to remember that not everyone was there to buy to flip but there would have been a lot of fans who wanted the print/s from seeing the images last week who were prepared to put the effort in, because they are fan's.
I know stuey fancied a print or two & by doing a 600 mile trip & waiting around for hours to get what he wanted its well deserved in my opinion.

It was bizarre bond. One transaction went straight through and then another would require authorisation from the banks. This included security questions etc. My tip for any such future event would be to pay cash if at all possible. It would reduce the time considerably.

Antony Micallef - Lazinc line, by lesbianwednesdays on Sept 19, 2007 16:20:37 GMT 1, it's funny how so many people are so quick to label so many as meek, only queuing overnight to flog everything on ebay - don't judge us all by your own standards. i love the peacekeeper, wanted to buy it and made an informed choice to queue up and be patient so i could buy it at cost and have the pleasure, albeit tempered by fatigue slightly, of treating myself to an image i've admired for sometime. those that are hating, you don't like it so you didn't want to queue, your choice, i did so i queued, end of.
as stuey has so rightly pointed, some perspective wouldn't go amiss, the drama queen that was sickened - i hope you don't have to deal with anything too traumatic in your life is an orderely queue disgusts you, i don't think you could cope sweetheart.
as for the POW release, i did say to perry that i wouldn't be surprised if it coincided, the release on the site says that the artist wanted to flood the market and allow as many as possible to own a piece of him fair play to antony for that because i doubt the marketing people would have agreed but on his insistence i think the vast majority of people are happy with their lot today.
i'm alright jack, i got my peacekeeper (resisted the urge to buy others for profit to cover costs/my night on the street etc, though can understand why others might have) and got back home just in time to get the POW release before going to bed
shame i've woken up to the cynical 'oh, queueing is so beneath me, you minions' bandwagon jumpers, if you don't like it enough to queue up and buy it fine, others did. there will always be baggers - do you think that because the scum were getting washed off the streets of soho that none of the POW release will get flipped? if you don't then you are very naive.
live and let live, eh?

be interesting how many of the whiners would be happy to queue when trollies is sold at santa's ghetto though?

Antony Micallef - Lazinc line, by curiousgeorge on Sept 19, 2007 16:34:16 GMT 1, I paid a mate 300 sheets to travel up for me as i couldnt make it, he arrived a little after 6.30am. After a quick count up he was in position 140-150 ish. Now going on the site information that they would have 180 of each print available for sale today, approaching noon security were telling people they only had 80 ish left... Maybe my maths is crap, but those numbers don't add up at all.To me if my mate had got in the queue below 150 then he stood a very good chance of getting something, then about an hour later security told people they were down to the last 20 prints!! He left at 2.30pm ish with he reckons 100 people in front of him!
I'm totally gutted and angry tbh, can't understand for the life of the number crunching that went on today. So gutted in fact i'm starting to question why i even bother buying anything at all!!
And to think i was excited about this release, and had heard good things about Laz and being organised..pah...total bunch of arse
Sorry for the rant

My ever so obliging and totally amazing girl went down to london on the first coach this morning (being a teacher its hard for me to get the time off) and got in the line at about 6.15. A quick head count saw 120 people in front of her. She was still in the que at 1500 about 20 from the front when they said that they had all sold out. Perhaps like others my maths is crap but somehow the numbers dont add up. Laz - You're a fucking joke.

Security had apparently been telling people the numbers were not correct as they had sent more to L.A than the Laz suggested, which may mean those that stood in line and waited may get something later

i q'd till just after the fight, and it was to do with the queue, the bloke who started the fight had been trying to push in all day. he was walking up and down trying to get in.
It was a pretty nasty fight from where i could see and the sad thing that happened was that you could see people not move incase they lost their place in the queue. this was when i decided it was all to much and couldnt face getting towards the front of the queue and being told they had none.
Back home in Worcestershire now after standing for most of the day. managed to get myself a pow print so all is well that ends well
