DFace - New York - 12th Sept - 10th Oct, by nex on Sept 11, 2009 10:26:08 GMT 1, Cant remember what the Apopcalypse Now prices were (that was a bloody good show imo.).
for me Wiz, it was a like a sugary drink the initial taste was great, but slosh it around too long and it tastes horrible
I guess if he was trying to encapsulate consumerist society he just about nailed it

an odd decision considering the economic climate we currently inhabit

DFace - New York - 12th Sept - 10th Oct, by Wearology on Sept 11, 2009 12:20:37 GMT 1, I will be at the show this evening for a few hours from 7 PM on - I will give you all an update on the art , people , weather conditions , etc.... - The weather in New York this morning is rainy , windy , and cold. The forecast for this evening is continued rain , wind , and cold. I am meeting some fellow forum members tomorrow afternoon at the show - this is going to be fun no matter if you think DFACE is the best artist with great new stuff or just an illustrator with tired old ideas.

JB is giving as much as he's taking so if you're going to make comment, direct it to both of them.

Freerange is on this thread to talk about the new D*Face show But Ronhill only seems to be here to try and get other members pissed off enough so they bit back. Then of course I get connected saying they should be banned same old games being played behind the scenes.
Freerange was warned by me earlier today, but maybe I should make a list of people who would like me to forward my private PM's to them every time I talk to anyone Its an idea.

DFace - New York - 12th Sept - 10th Oct, by Wearology on Sept 12, 2009 4:07:51 GMT 1, The show was absolutely incredible - I went there with the attitude that I did not want to see superheroes , soup cans , skulls , or pictures of the queen. I was blown away by the detail and skill of DFACE. I consider myself a Banksy loyalists but let me tell you that DFACE hit a home run. He did the etchings out of desks that he bought from a school. Each wood panel has years of writing on them. I had a chance to spend about 15 minutes with DFACE we drank beer and talked about Banksy, Grafter & Silky. Kaws was at the show but he was desperately trying to keep a very low profile. They released 9 of the 50 prints at the show and only allowed 1 per person. They were obsessed with the thought of flippers and asked for everyone who purchased the print their name address phone number etc. DFACE was nice enough to draw all over my street improvements and was beyond nice. I went their as just another guy who likes street art and left a DFACE fan. Jonathan Levine did a great job. I only purchased a the punk queen print but the other stuff was selling out by the time I was leaving. I was very tempted to but the riot coke piece but I passed. His art has so much more detail in the flesh. There were several forum members at the show (meatbag) and I met at an elevator by random chance and talked about Wizbong, and all you crazy cats on the forum. I was able to get postcards and stickers for all the guys that sent me their address and will get them in the post tomorrow. The next few posts i will be sending were from the show taken by my computer so they will appear backwards sorry for the sh.. photos. DFACE is back and he loves New York. The crowd was mostly young people from New York with the occasional Brit in the mix. The weather was rainy like a dark day in London.
