UK General Election 2010, by simonf on Jan 4, 2010 17:37:03 GMT 1, This subject is very touchy and could cause offense and im not saying one more bit, im sure you understand my view on the whole thing and who's in power. but one last point, imagine blair was his own man (not a young boy craving for his dads attention (bush) and we didn't go to war. 1) we wouldn't have the 200 odd deaths and secondly look how much we would have saved.
I think we all agree on that one!

UK General Election 2010, by bazzj04 on Jan 4, 2010 17:44:47 GMT 1, That family angers me sooo much , and the thing is the govenrment are to blame to allow this to continue , this really needs to be stopped, If you cannot afford to have Children you shouldnot be allowed them .how i dont know , save us all allot more in Job seekers allowence , Out of work benfit , Families like this sadly seem to breed future familes like this, not all but there is a cycle Which in terms for the Country is very scary thought , If this does keep on in a vicous cirlce then it will end up with vast amounts of people claiming and not even thinking about working,
If you are on benifits, for job allownece etc etc, Then this may sound harsh , but 9-5 everyday the government own you to do with you as they please, then you get your benifits, There are plenty of places that could benfit from extra workers without taking jopbs from the already employed,. just add more people and improve areas , even if this means making them cleaner tidy , lick of paint , not essential things i know , but iit means that at least we are getting something out of them. And if they dont like it get a job and do as they please, The thing is at the momment , its very easy to stay on benfits because most the people looking for jobs of this sort have no reall education, drive or goals, but if regaurdless of claiming they will be made to work then i really think this could spur on at least a few good ones caught up in this mess ,THe Jobs that they are likly to start with are going to be relaitvly low paid , and this means no insentive to get off benifits. Why work when you can get basically the same money and play Psp all day, I bet you most of these types have comouters and all things like this ? an essential ha .

UK General Election 2010, by simonf on Jan 4, 2010 17:54:06 GMT 1, I think we all agree on that one! So tell me Thatcher wasnt sucking Regans cock at any point? We have never been the lapdogs of the Yanks under the Tories? In fact i'm not reading this s**te anymore....i knew it would annoy me.
I think she was, no one said she wasn't... we were specifically talking about Iraq, the "wrong war" as Banksy (remember him?) put it.
You have introduced another point that is also accurate, I don't see why you have annoyed yourself though. It is a seperate point but equally valid... Its simply that we weren't talking about that point that's all.

Some people (not specifically simonf!) have Thatcher on the brain... she's the root of all evil in the world, she is Osama Bin Laden, she eats babie... wibble, wibble, flip

UK General Election 2010, by simonf on Jan 4, 2010 17:58:12 GMT 1, I have to say if tax payers money (ie mine) is given to people for free, then asking them to do some work for it (as i have to do) seems a persuasive argument.
although some people because of illness disability or even their religion might find it very hard to get proper work

As there are everywhere - there are also the blinkered people on the other end of the scale. Thankfully the majority of us can have an educated discussion about matters like this, and in educated discussions you can't make sweeping statements without backing them up

Do you know anything about politics in this country in the past 30 years, or just what the mail spoonfed you in the past fortnight?

Funnily enough I do know about politics in this country in the last 30 years - what about politics now? Do you know anything about that or do you just go off what happend 30 years ago?
Also, strangely, I don't read the mail of either daily or sunday varieties. I do read a newspaper - and often two however i make up my own mind about everything, not just politics

Agree there would be different circumstances, and these would have to be addressed individually, as is down now with people claiming for disablities etc etc, so there will be people who cant work, But there would be huge numbers im sure who could work.
Can i ask how would Religion affect this?.

Yes, totally... it doesn't matter at all who runs this country next, how about we keep Brown in again then the next time an election comes round we have to properly tear the arse out of the country to kick start it (again!)

Well if your religion, for example. meant you had to wear a burkah.. so that only your eyes were showing, I would imagine it would be very difficult to get someone to give you a job.
I can't think of many jobs where that would be considered acceptable. It would be against health and safety in a factory for example, and would be less than perfect for people working in customer relations, or has been proved in the courts lately teaching.
In that instance it might be very hard to get a job. In which case, as a society that respects the individuals religion, the there would be little choice but to pay the person tax payers money whether they work or not.

UK General Election 2010, by bazzj04 on Jan 4, 2010 18:21:15 GMT 1, This s very true , but this would open up yet another loop whole and so many people just change religion for this reason
Prehaps as harsh as it sounds we need to stop being so tolerent of people religion and actually put country before indiiduals , were all here you know... If you want money you work unless you cant , but im pretty sure. Religion affected by this could clean streets?. Paint walls> and not have issues from emplyers ?.
but we see , and if this comes across racist at all, It was totally unintended and am not racist in anyways ,
