US ELECTION, by Deleted on Nov 4, 2008 19:42:03 GMT 1, there is a chance Obama can win the popular vote and lose the electoral vote. If that happens, I'm stocking up on guns, water and protein bars because there will be a revolution.

US ELECTION, by micko on Nov 4, 2008 19:46:48 GMT 1, If McCain wins, my wife and I are packing up and moving out of the US. 8 years of republican nonsense and Bush destroying what was left of the US' image is enough for one lifetime. Bush will go down as the worst president and representative that the US has ever had. Time for change. Time for redemption. Time for Obama.

Remember around half the population of the US consists of traditional americans and rednecks who would never vote for a black man to be president.
I think It will be very close, Obama will receive votes from the younger population and of course a lot of black people therefore he will win about 55%-45%

US ELECTION, by slowmo on Nov 4, 2008 20:19:32 GMT 1, At around 4.30am UK time, when the results start becoming clear, Bush will stick the final nail in the coffin of truth, freedom and the American way, calling a state of emergency, that needs a strong proven leader to see people through, so the election is off.

US ELECTION, by funster on Nov 4, 2008 20:35:55 GMT 1, this thread turned into conspiracy theories fast. How many hear have actually been watching the U.S. presidential campaign enough, or know our electoral system enough, to even give an informed opinion? Unless someone raises some better points... this thread has already dead.
Blame Silky, apparently he's responsible for everything... apparently

So your saying the system worked 8 years ago when Jeb stepped in for his big bro???

The major issue with the US electoral system... should be changed to first past the post

Agreed, I don't think it will be quite so one sided as everyone would hope for. I find it incredible that Bush has managed to screw up just about everything for everybody. Not satisfied with f*cking over most on the breadline, he then ensured that his last year in office saw all of his wealthy cronies also get properly stitched (though self inflicted) can he have any supporters? surely his must go down as one of, if not the worst presidency ever

US ELECTION, by greeneny on Nov 4, 2008 21:15:19 GMT 1, It won't be close. Obama will win in a landslide and rightfully so given the caliber of leader he's shown himself to be. We may have finally seen the end of the Republican "divide and conquer politics" that's made accomplishing anything in America much more difficult if not impossible. I believe Obama will do what's necessary to bring red and blue together. His government will be bi partisan. Maybe its because so many of us have been brought up immersed in Hollywood movie themes, but when Americans come together with a leader who can inspire and articulate what it is we need to do, I feel pretty certain we can accomplish it. Finally, I think in the years to come, many will realize that it was the acute ineptness of George Bush, his reckless policies and the blind party loyalty that drove America so close to the edge (and over it in some instances) that it caused many Americans to put aside their old prejudices to look beyond the color of Barack Obama's skin and see the content of his character ... I suspect tomorrow many in America will be in awe at what we're doing today.
