I need a little help from you good people. I have a 2003 'Love is in the air'' pre POW stamped, unsigned, tagged, and verified by POW ( I still have the credit card receipt from the retailer). I want a Lancia Fulvia my good lady would prefer a bathroom under the stairs, either way the Banksy is going. I could bang it on the bay but have my doubts, I've only ever seen later POW stamped ones on ebay. This has to be more worthy as I understand it was the bristol ones fourth print released. Any advice welcome. ps don't try and put me of a Lancia.

This thread is for photos only for framed LOVE IS IN THE AID prints. Rather than spending all that time looking for examples of a this print framed up... you can see and post examples in this thread! This will allow everyone on the board to have a look at what other people have done with each print to see how different mats, frames, and mountings look for each individual print. This should be a good way to save time from searching all over, plus it will give you some nice ideas for your Banksy!

Feel free to add photos of your framed example in each of the appropriate threads, there is a "Framed" thread under each print listed in the 'Banksy Limited Edition Prints' section. To keep each thread manageable and on topic, please refrain from commenting. Also, remember to resize images that may be oversized so everyone can have a proper look at your framing work!

Mine is tagged©banksyin very small font in bottom right hand corner. It has a different tag to other prints.
I have tried to take a pic but its too small for my camera to focus on , sorry, that sounds like a lame excuse but true ..honest

just got a bit paranoid after seeing the Japanese website, you could buy this for 180 quid, number it and stick it on ebay for 600 quid. Especially without a close up of the numbering. Glad I stumbled over you guys.. brilliant site and a cool bunch of people ! respect

I think it would be an EXTREMELY good idea for someone to begin a comprehensive registry, or collectors organization. This is sometimes done with some artists work that has been prone to easy forgery, and is commonly done with rare or limited edition collectors vehicles which are prone to the same.
There are obviously individuals here and the Banksy Ebay forum that have an encyclopedic knowledge of the early works. It would probably save a great amount of time and trouble to begin to compile a list of known authentic prints and variations now, BEFORE any actual professional forgeries show up, which is bound to happen in the next few years, and while memories are still fresh.

It is very common for a private registry or collectors club to issue thier own club authentications for pieces, along with keeping record of histories of ownership on file as well as photos individuals send of the numbered works they own so that if a forgery pops up with the same numbers later, no matter how convincing, there is never a doubt as to the true owner and provenance. The organization as a third party has dated records to protect the real owners!
Registries like this succeed really well, as there is a serious motive for owners to submit thier information to the registry to protect themselves - all someone has to do is compile it into a list.
As long as it happens soon, and as long as people able to "vet" real vs. fake pieces still are around, this will work.
Wait 5 or 10 years from now and all these prints, real or not, will be worthless. Look at Miro prints as a perfect example of this phenomenon. No one can tell what is real and not!
My father is part of two registries for classic cars, and starting one of them too late meant that people trying to register thier cars found two and even three of each serial number in existance, with no clear provenance for most. His other registry started early for another type of car, and they have the lists of who has owned over half the cars through each sale from new to current over 30+ years. No chance for a forgery there!

The average price on ebay since october last year is £1070 and the highest price paid on ebay was £1309 on the 21st of Jan.

I'm surely due some respect for those stats :-)
