Wrong War. Blair withdraws troops., by danvnuk on Feb 22, 2007 18:43:25 GMT 1, 99% of Politicians are lying self serving theiving gits - regardless of party or political persuasion.
Thatcher was no different.
Saying that, I can't lay the decline of British society at her door - how long have Labour been in power now? and they're still blaming the Tories for their c**k ups....might have been valid in their first term - not anymore whilst they're now in their third.
The current Government have destroyed any belief I had in Politicians (Not a hell of a lot admittedly) - Its Spin, Spin, Spin, Lie - get caught out, refuse to resign and hope eveyone gets fed up asking for your resignation (or if its really bad, resign and then wait a few months before being given another job in Government when you think electorate has probably forgotten what you did)
They are probably the worst Government I've seen in my lifetime, including John Majors Sleaze Cabinet (How sleazy do they look now when held up against Blairs Labours shenanigans?) and yes, worse than Thatcher.

Wrong War. I believe that we are currently living in a golden age that has been engineered by the sound economic and social management of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Unfortunately many choose not to recognise this and have short memories so in 10 years time we will be suffering the consequencies of a few years of Tory mis-rule and bigotry.

Wrong War. Blair withdraws troops., by goffy on Feb 22, 2007 19:24:26 GMT 1, Everytime I see Blair on T.V. I feel repulsed, everytime I see Thatcher on T.V. I feel hate, anger and confusion on why that witch is still alive. But to get back to my point. I am a nurse in the NHS and I have seen a tremendous improvement in the Health Service. Obviously it's not all great, people will still have their horror stories about personal experiences. When Thatcher was in power she cut the number of student nurse places leading to the shortage we have seen and the influx of foreign nurses from countries that need nurses just as much as us. I am watching the news while writing this, about the increase of deaths in hospitals from C.D. and can honestly say I have not seen any significant increase in my area which is Intensive Care.

How can that be right, I want my voice to be heard in Parliament.
Maybe I should move to Italy.

Wrong War. Blair withdraws troops., by Octopus UK on Feb 22, 2007 20:25:41 GMT 1, Every political party is itself a coalition, within the Labour Party there are many views and opinions BUT each individual knows that it is in their (and the greater populations') best interest to work with others in the party. If, in effect, each person (or small group : Green/UKIP/BNP) becomes their own "party" with no loyality to other "parties" then government - the whole reason for the existance of politicians - fails and does not function. Then it IS a waste of time to vote because governments are not stable.

Im sorry to say but problems stem back to the fact that they are generations behind in the Human race and cannot live without destruction and killing.

Sorry, that's not the way I see it, every small group will need to work with larger groups and form various coalitions to get some of their opinions put into policy. This is a good thing and stops extreme groups, the greens will force through some green policys but in order for that to happen they may have to bend a little on something else. Much better than having one huge party that can take us to war even though they only represent 30% of the population, but as they have over 60% of the house can do almost anything. In the system you like so much it would be possible for someone like Hitler to come to power and have complete control with a minority vote. PR creates a more stable less radical government, that has to listen to smaller groups.
P.S. I'm not Lib Dem

The U.S. saving your asses in WWII will always loom over any British decision-maker's head, regardless of any monetary debt being repaid or not. FDR opted to tackle Italy and Germany before "getting back at" Japan for Pearl Harbor. For as much as you all hate Thatcher and Blair, you must LOVE Churchill and FDR.
Like the article quotes Cunnilingus Rice as saying "The coalition is still strong."
And I don't understand what "generations behind the human race" means. Can you clarify? You aren't going to go biblical prophecy on me are you?
The real reason we went in was becuase we owed the US a lot of money dating back to WW2 and this would pay them back, Funny old thing debts were paid in full last month and funny old thing we are pulling a "few out" IMO It will be years before we withdraw fully, its the same with Afghanistan and even Ireland, Ive been out there and Afghan too stuey so Ive seen it first hand Its never going to get better. Im sorry to say but problems stem back to the fact that they are generations behind in the Human race and cannot live without destruction and killing. The U.S. saving your asses in WWII will always loom over any British decision-maker's head, regardless of any monetary debt being repaid or not. FDR opted to tackle Italy and Germany before "getting back at" Japan for Pearl Harbor. For as much as you all hate Thatcher and Blair, you must LOVE Churchill and FDR.
