Some good things came from Churchills lips, here's a couple of good ones.
Lady Astor : "Mr. Churchill, you're drunk!" Mr. Churchill : "Yes, and you, Madam, are ugly. But tomorrow, I shall be sober.
"Americans can always be counted upon to do the right thing - after all other possibilities have been exhausted."

Wrong War. Blair withdraws troops., by ABC on Feb 22, 2007 22:26:21 GMT 1, Nothing biblical about it, although relegion does play a major factor in the troubles within the world today. "generations behind the human race" basically means IMO they are not as advanced as the western world in all aspects and therefor do not know any different. Sadam had restricted lives for decades from advancing like the western worlds. Its too late for this my head hurts

Wrong War. Blair withdraws troops., by Octopus UK on Feb 22, 2007 22:26:25 GMT 1, The U.S. saving your asses in WWII will always loom over any British decision-maker's head, regardless of any monetary debt being repaid or not. FDR opted to tackle Italy and Germany before "getting back at" Japan for Pearl Harbor. For as much as you all hate Thatcher and Blair, you must LOVE Churchill and FDR.
FDR had no choice in the matter.
After Japan attacked Pearl Harbour, the US had no choice but to go to war with Japan. There was no intention of the US, at that stage, of getting involved in a European war. Hitler, however, came to the UK's "rescue" by declairing war on the US, so the US had no choice but then to also fight a European war.

Dangerous ground you're treading ABC.. I'd say other societies and religions are well in advance of the West both spiritually and intellectually. The seat of the all learning lies in the middle and far east. Love peace and harmony... we're just a bunch of ignorant credit card weilding materialistic consumer driven louts this side of the water
Guess we all need to find a nice middle ground between material comfort and spiritual welfare. Not easy and probably not attainable anyway, but certainly worth trying.. we have whole cities populated by unhappy pill popping robots driven to distraction by working in meaningless unfullfilling jobs spending their wages on trying to find "spiritual" fulfillment.. The Madonna effect. Sad.
I've met far more people on my travels from other poorer cultures (financially) who seem far more centered than anyone from the "west". And I don't mean hippies , just genuinly nice friendly balanced human beings.. maybe the older cultures have more to draw from, rather than our quite dark religious past.
I blame the parents

the US bailed us out with money and without the battle of the Bulge we'd have lost the western front too.

Blair withdraws troops., by ABC on Feb 23, 2007 12:29:28 GMT 1, I dont think its "Dangerous ground" Nu, I always state, they are My opinions, I too have travelled the world over and found many fantastic places and people to talk to but when I spent time in places like the Gulf and Afghanistan ive seen different sides that most have not, locals are mainly great but you always have to look over you shoulder for the not so nice locals if you know what I mean. Its easy for most to comment about what the goverment "Let you see on the news" and there policies but most do not really know what its like .

What do you expect - first the US used the Afghans to fight against the Russians. Leaving a totally devistated place even more devistated. Then it was bombed senseless again. These people have grown up with war and now they're getting another all because of a gas pipeline that the US have wanted.
Its tribal rule in such places, no law and order. But people aren't killing each other in huge droves... Unlike when hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. There was mass rape, pillage, murder going on. All because there was no law. When certain countries are hit with a disaster they come together and help each other out. As for the US when disaster struck the people didnt stick together - I'd hope the UK would be different and we'd help each other out. So enough of that looking over your shoulder 'us-and-them' bollocks.
And to cap it all off the worlds richest country have left their citizens in New Orleans to rot! A recent edition of top gear was shocking - it showed the city was still in a horrific state.

Perhaps thats a way political parties could start raising money, buy & sell art! Instead of blowing up the middle east for the oil, lets all head out to LA / San Fran with some disc cutters and start removing Banksy's from their walls!

No disagreement there mate. Guess it's just a matter of semantics, was just a bit concerened with the "they're behind the human race" sentence, kinda implied they weren't human. A classic army training psychological trick hey, dehumanise the enemy. Then we get shocked when soldiers walk around with neck chains made out of human ears.
But you need no lectures from me on this i'm sure
Peace and love.. I've got your back
