Glad you like! I've been photographing (mostly Bristol graffiti) for years, so I'll post the odd photo from the archives too.

Boswell and Lokey
And something from the archives. This 1971 Rover P6 is in an old warehouse and boatyard which has been derelict for at least 15 years and probably a fair bit longer than that. Demz and Dowz were two members of Crew Mess who absolutely smashed the city in the mid-2000s. They were the first to hit lots of spots around Bristol - rooftops, tracksides, abandoned buildings - and their pieces are still up years later.

And something from the archives. Anyone who's been to Bristol to check out the graffiti or a show is bound to have seen Westmoreland House which is known locally as 'the Beirut Building' because in the late '80s it wouldn't have looked out of place in the Lebanese capital. However, although Beirut has been rebuilt twice since then, Westmoreland House still looks much the same 25 years later. This is without a doubt my favourite Hall of Fame and, because it's virtually inaccessible these days, hardly anything has gone up in the last few years. You'll get an idea from the tags which surround this Sickboy temple - Rowdy, Cyclops, ATG, Ponk, Demz, - just how special this place is and the standard of work that's still up in Westmoreland House.

I think this Banksy piece was from about 2000, although my memory is a little hazy and, because it was shot with film, my photo unfortunately doesn't have a date stamp. It was on the same wall which he later painted the guy handing out the window which is still there.

And something from the archives. While I'm on the topic of Xenz, here's Bristol's answer to the Sistine Chapel. The Pro-Cathedral of the Holy Apostles was the city's Roman Catholic cathedral until the 1970s and then it was used as a Steiner School. Since then it's been derelict and has only occasionally been used for anarchist squats and leftfield parties and it was during this time (c.2007) that Xenz painted what was originally the side chapel and which was later the school hall.

This piece by Ponk and Sickboy was painted back when they were both part of the 'Ave A Go Heroes (AAGH) crew before Ponk joined Roid and co. in the Heavy Artillery crew and Sickboy moved through to London.

Boswell, Lokey, Tarqs and Shabs
Vesar and Young
Dead and Epok
Rose
Mr Jago and Soker
And something from the archives. While we've on the topic of Jago collaborations, here is my favourite street piece by anyone over the last few years. This was painted around the back of a club called Clockwork by Dale 'Vermin' Marshall and Mr Jago in 2010. The piece was entirely untouched, which is almost unheard of in this area of town, until the club was torn down last year. Here's a rough-cut video of the piece being painted here. I think Dale and Duncan are both incredibly passionate, thoughtful and original artists and I just love their work.

Visit BRISTOL ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Feral Things on Apr 9, 2013 21:00:46 GMT 1, I thought that people might be interested to see the current state of the remaining pieces by Banksy in Bristol. Funnily enough, although every stencil piece that goes up seems to be attributed to Banksy by some people, the majority of Banksy pieces in Bristol which are still in a reasonable state were painted freehand. Anyway, here we go:
Hanging Man
This got hit with a paintball gun a couple of years ago.
Mild Mild West
This also got hit with a paintball gun at the same time as Hanging Man but it got cleared off straight away.
Take with money with Inkie and Mode2.
Three kings!
Heavy Weaponary
Designated Picnic Area
Apart from the fact that it's very badly faded, this piece has suffered from the rather unusual problem of its surrounding now being in too nice a condition. This alley was always being flytipped when the piece was painted but now it's been tidied up and painted the once-ironic message has been slightly lost.
Poodle
This is on the wall of the Barton Hill Dug Out ball court where Inkie et al. learnt their craft. There was a reunion painting session and barbeque last summer and unfortunately someone wrote over this piece without realising what was on the wall.
Sunset with Inkie
This is round the back of my street. The Free tag has been there for years but a bit of my neighbour's gate fell off last year; hence the hole in Inkie's piece.
Kebele with Lokey, Kato, Soker and Tes
This was part of a bigger wall with Lokey, Kato, Soker and Tes but unfortunately Doodlebubz (pretty disrespectfully in my opinion) painted over those old-school writers and inserted himself into a wall with Banksy.
Rose Trap
I think protecting graffiti behind plexi-glass is straight up ridiculous but this piece is in a far better state than all the other stencils around town from this era.
Pierced Up
Safe and sound in a tattoo parlour.
Rollermania with Kato
Grim Reaper
Fortunately this wasn't painted on a spot of the hull which hasn't stained. Also fortunately, the Harbourmaster hasn't buffed this piece like he did with the previous Banksy piece on the side of the Thekla.
Quak Attack with Kato, Lokey, Tes and Soker
That is possibly the s**ttest tag I've seen. Ever.
Gorilla with a mask
The North Bristol Social Club closed and the new owner whitewashed the wall. Then he realised the gorilla was by Banksy and tried to remove the paint. If this was a real gorilla they would have put it out its misery by now.
Blowpop Records
Although this stencil is in a poor condition it's still in a far better condition than the once beautiful building it's painted on.
Planning Permission
Anyone still reading?
More Heavy Weaponary
Well it's in a better condition than the sign. It's actually St Andrews Road.
And something from the archives. This Love Is In The Air was the most recent Banksy piece to be buffed in Bristol. I've got earlier photos of this piece somewhere but this is how it looked in 2009. Sometime around 2007 a fake LIITA was painted on the same wall and, being more recent, it wasn't as faded as the genuine piece. Anyway the owners whitewashed the wall last year but painted around the LIITA presumably so they could keep their Banksy. The only problem was that they painted around the fake LIITA and buffed the genuine one.

The "Take the money and run" is one of my favourite and still looks great for a 15 year old Banksy! It's great to see that in Bristol you don't use to cut out walls and sell them on ebay. Also, I'm gonna believe that Banksy himself wrote "Barton Hill school of art"

Khoi and Gorf RIP

Crowes, ESM, Smak, Zynk, Elves, Khoi and Bandito
45RPM, Peter, Ebo and Richt
And something from the archives. This piece was painted in 2004 when the Iraq and Afghan Wars were in full swing and was buffed very shortly after it went up. If you're seeing this piece for the first time in 2013 it probably looks a lot like 101 other stencils you've seen over recent years but nearly 10 years ago this was fresh, relevant and effective and I've liked it ever since. I never did find out who painted it.

And something from the archives. The Soker piece above is painted on a wall which until relatively recently featured this TCF crew burner from Guy Fawkes' night 2007. Since then Paris has done the art work for Coldplay's last album, Feek has worked on Aardman's animations, Acerone has put on one of the best and most overlooked show of 2012 in London but I've no idea what that Xenz fella has been up to since 2007. The other writers involved with this piece were Eko, Dicy, Ponk, Ziml, K148 and Seza.

JPS
And something from the archives. This is without a doubt my favourite stencil and it's by Jef Row. There's another one still up in St Werburghs but this particular piece was from 2004. It's relatively simple compared with the multilayered stencils we're used to nowadays but I love the pathos, message and execution.

DBK and Drek
Gumbo, Oath, 45RPm, Rudie and 3Dom
Rowdy
And something from the archives. Back in c.2007 Rowdy put on an exhibition of his rock art in an abandoned quarry which was also home to Banksy's zebra car. If you go to Rowdy's Facebook page and scrawl down to 14 April you'll see Rowdy's contribution to the Dots film where he talks about his rock art. I'll post some other photos of the other rocks in the Countryside Street Art and Graffiti thread which Coach has started.
