Is that true?
That's a disgrace if it is.

WORLD CUP 2011, by jswo on Oct 24, 2011 20:25:25 GMT 1, i know i'd keep my 100th test jersey and rwc final jersey, other than your first would these be the greatest momento's you could ever keep? Normally he would swap his jersey just unfortunate for Bonnaire met him on these 2 occasions, Bonnaire was also fine with it understanding the occassion.
BTW how was McCaw cocky? He is very humble during his speeches. The man has spent the last 10 years putting his blood, sweat and tears into achieving the ultimate goal for his team and country on home soil - let the man celebrate.

$10K is the number I heard...
You don't keep your jersey if some other player ask for a swap.... Even the cockiest highly paid football players change jerseys at the end of games (and yeah even after the WC final).
I didn't even commented Mc Caw's style of play but there has been no comments on his part about his adversary of the day. It was a tense game and his attitude was like : "we are geniuses... I feel shagged..."
To give a fair comparison, first comments from French players after Wales game was we sucked hard and we didn't deserve to win but we are through....
When you hear Mc Caw they won by 50 points and they played their best! I'm definately not sour from the defeat but a bit of humility would be nice....

WORLD CUP 2011, by jswo on Oct 24, 2011 22:45:37 GMT 1, must of missed McCaw's we are geniuses attitude, more a congratulations to his team - just as dusautoir did. yes, i heard a £10k fine from the irb, apparently for crossing the half way line, but i enjoyed what france did. i guess it's different to how people listen to things, McCaw said they dug their deepest for the win, don't recall him ever saying they played their best (because they didn't). But congrats to france for putting on a good final.

WORLD CUP 2011, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Oct 25, 2011 0:49:32 GMT 1, dont think the hakka gives any advantage, they must use a lot of energy doing it?? I remember the aussie Rugby LEaugue team blowing kisses back at them one thing not to do Like we (Wales) did is not leave them perform, what an embarresment for Welsh Rugby. The All BLacks had to perform the hakka in their dressing room of the Millenium Stadium.. they came out and Dan Carter scored 35 points by himself and they smashed us.....

WORLD CUP 2011, by misterx on Oct 25, 2011 4:42:20 GMT 1, France had their chances and failed to capitalise...
I also think Joubert had one of his lesser games as ref...
Well played to the kiwi's! But,
Ritchie McCaw is the smartest cheat in world rugby...he was found offside at the breakdown sooo many times in that final by the cameras, but the ref never saw a thing. This he has been doing for years at both provincial and test level. Quick ball is the way to go these days...McCaws little "OOPS I'm on the wrong side here" routine was a clear attempt at slowing the opposition down. This area needs stronger policing for the betterment of the game...Pocock for the Wobblies is another who often crosses that line between playing hard but fair, and cheating, with his off side efforts against the Boks a standout..
Nothing was done. I can understand how some of our Frenchies here feel aggrieved!

They all do it... it's just Mccaw and Pockcock are at present better than everyone else doing it. I agree with it being better policed, there isnt any consistency with the refs.

WORLD CUP 2011, by Brushstrokes 75 on Oct 25, 2011 22:54:56 GMT 1, Probably accidental but they had to get revenge for that :
Another thing too..... Mc Caw is always touching the ball (or trying to slow the play) when not on his feet and the referree rarely penalize him for it... So yeah, other teams might punch or walk on him for him to stop... So he can't really complain too much!
We don't know everything that happens during scrums, ruck & mauls.... Weepu did punch mermoz in the ear during the same game.

WORLD CUP 2011, by Brushstrokes 75 on Oct 26, 2011 11:04:08 GMT 1, I was talking how mc caw (probably accidentally) knock off parra with his fist & knee.
I'm not defending the eye gauging in any way but I definately get why Rougerie did what he did.
1st off, I'd like to say that it's very low from NZ herald (nobody can save this piece of sh**t of newspaper).
2nd off,you would be damn to think that all blacks are squicky clean.
You don't see what happens in rucks, mauls & scrums...... Punches, gauging, walking over.......
Now to come back to his motivation, it wasn't a blatant dirty play to be dirty.... MC caw is a great and smart player, everytime he was on the ground he was touching the ball, slowing the plays, coming through the side without the ref intervening.....
At some point, you have to do justice yourself, do I condemn the gesture 100% but it's rugby they can't let him do what he wants if they want to win (and that's why he never complained).
