MR BRAINWASH @ OPERA GALLERY LONDON, by eschiff on Sept 24, 2011 16:54:43 GMT 1, despite my feelings about the guy, i have to disagree with some of you. i think some of those are really nice, the marley is beautiful.
won't camp out overnight for a print or spend 80k on an OG, but i think there's some nice work there (whether him or his elves)

MR BRAINWASH @ OPERA GALLERY LONDON, by Shoot Again on Sept 24, 2011 17:17:47 GMT 1, Don't think he will actually end up being there on the opening evening but if he does it could be quite a fun night ;-) His personality is the biggest reason of his success... It always puzzles me how many out there literally HATES him, how many just can't say they don't like his work but are happy to move on to their favourite artists without expressing their disgust about Mr Brainwash ;-) If you don't like it just ignore him, enough hatery in the World ...

BTW- here is the next print release. Reborn. Edition of 100 Invisible ink that shows Andy Warhols face once under blacklight source. $375
There are 10 prints that have hand finished backgrounds for $1,250.

Isn't it great that you DON'T have to understand. Buy what you like and keep your eye on your own prize.

Try and think of it as if this was in the music industry I guess Justin Bieber is making loads of money, and I don't like his music, but why would I let it bother me? good luck to him!

Well said. And I agree with warmgun, there is quite a bit of negativity on the forum right now. I was reading the latest VNA and they highlighted a quote by trustocorp "Mr Brainwash is like the guy in a marathon who jumps in at the last 100 yards, throws a number on his chest and declares himself the winner." I'm all for freedom of speech, but like trusto, its interesting to hear why you dislike the artist so much.

MR BRAINWASH @ OPERA GALLERY LONDON, by Finsbury on Sept 24, 2011 21:22:25 GMT 1, Is there anyone other than me out there who just likes a print/poster whatever for what it is rather than considering all the other negatives like who the artist is, how he goes about his work etc? I own a MBW cover girl just because i like the piece regardless. Of course i do like knowing that other pieces i own were done by the artists own hands and that has tons of cred but surely sometimes if you like a piece, you like it end of story?

PS: I was at the Emirates today - a good win. We played well in the 2nd half ;D

MR BRAINWASH @ OPERA GALLERY LONDON, by My Name is Frank on Sept 24, 2011 23:50:27 GMT 1, Perhaps the issue begins when someone says limited. A poster is generally a very quickly thought out means to promote an end, miles cheaper and can be enjoyed as an image only, sadly they ordinarily contain an advert for a show or something else, so you end up with a sales poster on your wall and eventually you have to pull it down. A limited edition print, well you kind of hope people realise its an image of merit. Some thought on the image and care in the execution should come to pass and you have a work of art on your wall which a poster can never match.
I think it's fair enough to ignore who the artist is to an extent, the problem with brainwash, it's continually churned out, with little thought other than 'what do people expect to see'. There is nothing wrong with that, many corporations do very very nicely out of providing what the general consensus of society want.
I just wonder if people get angry that Brainwach makes posters, only they lack the show date. Take his name away and they are what they are, a naked emperor.
